A studio in Paris, sketching rough drafts of meeting God @thomas_vanz

Early in After Death, the film has to show what people describe experiencing: what Heaven could look like, what meeting a God of light could feel like. Nobody has reference footage for that. Thomas Vanz's visualizations gave us the direction long before final shots existed.

On impossible images, you don't start with detail. You start with direction.

Our composer wrote a score she cannot fully explain.

Hannah Parrott says music writing always feels kind of supernatural: you write something, and you do not quite know how it was written. For After Death she meditated on the things that give life to her soul. "I was constantly surprised at how easily the music came. That aspect just felt like a gift."

Prepare your craft relentlessly, then leave room for the part you cannot control.

Today we filmed hell.

Howard Storm's near-death experience carried him into a void, and today our crew staged it on a soundstage at Baja Studios, the same lot where Titanic was shot. The set ran quieter than usual. Everyone knew we were recreating a real man's testimony.

Some scenes you direct. Others you handle with care.

As the year winds down, we wanted to reflect on 2025 at Saturation.

1. $2.7B managed across 19,628 projects. The industry is moving faster than ever, and we’re building for that pace.

2. Launched our podcast, @producedwith. Long-form conversations with leaders shaping the future of production technology, including voices like Simon Tam (co-founder and CTO of Saturation), @carolinagroppa, @joelpilger, @lisamarieshires, @noamkroll, @pjacefilms, Leon Silverman, @reesehopper.co, @rossgirard, @campfirefilmtv, @shanehurlbutasc, @filmmakers_academy . More episodes on the way.

3. Surpassed 20M views on YouTube. Watching this community grow, learn, and build alongside us has been one of the highlights of the year.

4. Shipped many product updates across the platform. From advanced filtering and sorting to group actuals, vendor onboarding, and a full markup rows rebuild - these were foundational upgrades.

5. Hosted an @theaicp Lunch & Learn, introduced by President Matt Miller, with speakers @jensjacob24 and Ruth Martinez, interim HOP at @parkpictures. Over 180 producers joined us to explore Gen AI vs Production AI: Learn How to Create Your Own AI Agent for Your Productions.

6. We collaborated with incredible partners like @reesehopper.co, @lostinayaland, @bradydrogers, @simi.views - each pushing production workflows forward in their own way.

We also joined the MovieLabs Industry Forum for their 2030 Vision Initiative and made @ahrefs top 10 trending SaaS startups.

So grateful for everyone here, being a part of the Saturation community. Excited for what’s ahead in 2026.

We’re just getting started 🎉
