I was honored to be invited by @adobe for a brunch to celebrate Black Creativity for BHM, and a time was had to say the least! Every detail felt intentional, and everything about this event made it one to remember. From the incredible company and conversations to the absolutely OUTSTANDING menu curated and prepared by @courtneefutch @thebrownbuttersupperclub, it was truly a special afternoon.

Thank you to everyone who was involved in putting this brunch together. The intention of creating space for Black creators and providing tools to help our creativity shine will always be necessary and extremely impactful, and I will always be grateful to those who advocate for us and make things like this possible.

Now to reflect:

Designing & creating content have always been my greatest passions, but also some of my greatest challenges. Showing up online and pursuing art has been a constant state of choosing my highest self, pushing the bounds of my creativity, and hoping to inspire at least one person along the way to do the same.

I went from doubting everything about myself, about my journey, and about my dreams to eventually being invited to an event hosted by the platform that changed the trajectory of my life for the better. This brunch was my first brand event, and to me, it felt like a full circle moment.

As I was getting ready, nothing had felt like it was going right: me and my hair almost got in a fist fight, unpredicted outfit malfunctions, insane uber wait times, and peak Atlanta traffic, just to name a few. The self-sabotaging thoughts started to come up. I started to question the validity of my invite. It was my first big event, and I couldn’t even show up on time? Smh. But as always, I had to snap myself back into reality immediately with some gentle parenting and shut down all negative talk with a quickness. Because when I arrived, none of that even mattered. I was greeted with enthusiasm and kindness, welcomed with open arms, and appreciated by other creators. I met some of my favorite mutuals and other top creators who were dedicated to their craft just like me.

Thank you, Adobe, for making space. For seeing me, and for seeing us.

My first brand event in Atlanta… and it was with the top creators in the city. 🤎

Hosted by @adobe in honor of Black History Month, and the room was full of Black excellence, vision, and real creative power.

As a Black orthopedic spine surgeon and content creator, being in that space felt aligned. New city. Bigger rooms. Higher standard.

Filmed on the Sony ZV-E10 Mark II
11mm f/1.8 + 50mm f/1.8
60fps | 1/125 | ISO 2500–3200

I’m tagging everyone I met.
