All About Love Book Club at Mermaid Books is my highlight of the month. Since October, 15 women have been reading romance novels, sharing their points of view, and rating the books. We are an intelligent group full of teachers, accountants, graphic designers, guidance counselors, marketing managing, and even a theater professor! We share our connections to the characters, our personal life, and best of all, we support each other. We have become a strong group of women who actually read the books and are here for more than just the wine! 🩷📖 I am so grateful to co-facilitate with @professorrachelreads who brings the literary world right to our table with her incredible knowledge of literary history, classics, and romance novels. We are both so grateful to @mermaidbooksct who helped form this group and we wouldn’t have this strong bond without you! And the women, the readers, the clubbers!!! I care about each of you so much and I am in awe of how inspiring each one of you are! It is easy to talk to you all, we share our passions and our hard times. Women supporting women, I love it!!! Spend a morning with me 🥐📖🛍️

Yesterday my friend Steph and I spent the morning grabbing pastries and going book shopping!

We went to Scratch Baking for muffins (apple cider crumble and chocolate chip) and drinks (chai tea and iced coffee), then headed down the street to Mermaid Books.

I got The Guest by Emma Cline and a cute Richard Scarry bookmark! 🍎🐛

We’re leveling up our weekly storytime!

Meet first grade teacher (and lifelong book lover) @stephmariereads, who’s taking the reins for us this summer. Join us each Wednesday at 11am for a fun (and free!) storytime with Steph, who has all kinds of tricks up her sleeve. (Hint, hint: She plays a mean ukelele!)

memorial day stack 🇺🇸

I’m overwhelmed with thankfulness these past few days for this life I get to live and enjoy thanks to the sacrifices of others. I’m not immune to the awareness that these freedoms come at a cost and I’m deeply grateful. In honor of Memorial Day I’m sharing ten little things I’m thankful for and challenging everyone to join in!
