POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

t’s been a crazy year so far, distinct lack of social media presence due to how busy we have been, A Levels and now Miss CS is working for us for a while. kilo ends sales have been rare and people have been asking so here it finally is!

Sunday 18th October at 6pm 50 moved kilo ends will go on sale for £14 each including postage. There are a few single scent kilos already available.

Took some time to make cashew butter cookies this week, mostly because I had a sweet tooth!

The Christmas shop has gone live today and more items will be added over the weekend and the next few weeks. A special discount code for all Newsletter subscribers has been sent today.

We have these stunning new matches from @matchboxmaker going live as well. We have had these in the shop all summer and the Christmas ones are spectacular not to mention the literary ones.

I accidentally grew some whopping spuds due to being lazy last summer.

Myself and Miss CS had a quick jaunt to @stephs.midnight.flit to learning rug weaving and stay in the woods. I am a bit obsessed now and have ideas for next year.

Welcome to The Journal, an honest visual diary of everyday life.

There is no glitz, no grand plan and no hidden motive. Just family life, workshop projects, motorbikes, road trips, unexpected problems and whatever other shenanigans happen along the way.

Some days will be productive. Some will be complete chaos. Most will probably be a mixture of both.

This series is simply about documenting real life as it happens the moments that normally get forgotten, the ideas that do not always work and the memories we want to keep.

No script. No pretending. Just the journal.

Check it out on Youtube, link in bio.

June 🏞️

1. Being able to make things that feel nice is such a gift. Big shapes in natural fibres have been the way to go this summer

2. Bovey Craft Festival came around again. I spent the 4 days slinging coffee to lovely people who make wonderful things. Steph found something to take the edge off

3. In between coffee rushes I ran out to the two fabric shops and bought some lovely cloth

4. I played in the band that lead the procession for the Gansey Gathering. I don't think any photos exist but it was great fun. Obvs was in my new beige Gansey

5. Me and the Cats have been on Swift Watch this month. They've been filling the sky in the village and we have the best seat in the house from my bedroom

6. We have 4 boxes on our row of cottages 2 of them are outside my bedroom window. In June and July I fall asleep to the sound of the chicks cheeping at night. It's a very special time

7. Bluebs ripening up. At this point the harvest was looking mega

8. I walked to the river most days in the afternoon with a beer and a book

9. In the evenings I watched the sunset with the Goats

10. I'm lucky enough to live really close to the best spot on the River Teign. A ramble along a path and you're at best place to cool off on a heatwave

11. Little vignettes at the entrances to fields around my village

12. I spent a lot of time hanging out with the Goats. Constantly worrying about them in the heat!

13. I picked up a really cool folding ruler that has seen some action from a reclamation place on Plymouth

14-15. Cornish adventures mooching around lovely places

Amazing coverage of the incredible work of our makers who are keeping their craft alive.

Thank you to the BBC for showcasing endangered crafts in the Southwest of England at our marquee at @craftfestival. It’s your last chance to go and see the @makesouthwest exhibition Staying Alive before it closes this weekend.

This weekend we are going north to Blackburn, where we will have makers demonstrating their work at the @festivalofmaking

We look forward to seeing you there!

MAY 🦴

1. Less than a week after breaking my ankle I had a 2 days booked at a Garden Festival with my trailer. Enter the amazing Steph. She managed me being a grump, helped me with the goats, did the trailer with me and the door for club ceilidh. This girl is a gift

2. A bonkers @clubceilidh Exeter. I managed the bar on a Wheely stool with my ankle off the ground. Dancing was very much off the cards

3. May is my favourite time of year and I completely missed it. I feel really gutted about that. I'm still feeling like I'm desperately trying to catch up. Being confined to my cottage and pretty much bound to the sofa was really difficult

4. I lived for the days Christian would come and take me out for drives on the moor. We'd head off with no real plan and drive all the roads across the moor in all directions and see where we ended up. Getting up high and drinking in big landscapes was a real lifeline

5. I redesigned my second Gansey waiting for x rays in hospital. I got loads done but knitting actually felt quite intense. I switched to sewing and it was the perfect distraction. Being able to create things quite quickly really helped me mentally

6. Ivy and Teasel barely left my side. They were constantly on top of my ankle which they were never before and haven't been since

7. This HUGE blackthorn went straight through my boot. Luckily took an angle and missed my foot! At first I thought it was an ancient iron nail!

8. Calm evenings at the Goat's field helped me reconnect with being outside

9. My rose bloomed! I look forward to this every year

10. Towards the end of the month I was desperate to get into the water. Dodging jellyfish I finally made it in!

11. My allotment...still a total nightmare. But a beautiful one. Hoping to get back to it this week 😬

12. My mum and Christian were amazing helping me with the Goats. I couldn't go in with them for a few weeks. They're pretty boisterous and I couldn't risk being knocked over. It was lovely to get back to Goat cuddles

13. I booked in a day demoing spinning at wool for their 10th birthday pre ankle break. Luckily I was able to spin by the end of the month and had a great few days prepping

One week later and I’m still exhausted after a very busy @craftfestival! It was great to be back amongst all the makers and their super inspiring crafts, and the 3 days flew by in a whirlwind of paint, sun, and constant chatting. Thank you to everyone who stopped by my little ‘studio’, it was great to meet you all. 🪩

Extra thanks to Sarah and her team for inviting me and making the quick turnaround so easy! And to my craft gals @flohamer, @rosiemclayart, @stephs.midnight.flit and @beatrixbraycreates for being the best girl gang and making the weekend extra silly. ❤️
