Land. Labor. Who benefits? Who gets oppressed? Today and everyday, let us remember that the enemy is not each other. The enemy is the system that continues to oppress farmers, laborers, indigenous peoples, working class peoples. You and me. It's very hard living in these late-stage capitalism times. But I have to remember: my singing is my resistance. my showing up and refusing to be pulverized by the grind is my resistance. I love you guys. Hope you're taking care of yourselves. 🤘🏽✨Maharlika Highway tour begins end of this week. oct 16 · los angeles city hall i'll be singing the Philippine National Anthem at 4:30 pm. free and open to all. oct 17 · long beach joining the Filipino-American History Month celebration from 3–9 pm. free and open to all. oct 18 · delano i have the honor of singing at Philippine Weekend, in the place where the 1965 Delano Grape Strike began. where Filipino Manongs and Mexican farmworkers came together to fight for dignity, fair wages, and better working conditions. also free and open to all. from the Philippines to Palestine, we all will be free ! stop the genocide. end the occupation. free Palestine. 🇵🇸 free from oppression. free from corruption. free from imperialism. may we always remember that our liberation is tied to each other. 🤎 #rejectpaxsilica #indigenouspeoplesday #fromtherivertotheseapalestinewillbefree #originalmusic #mabuhay

WORLD SAKE DAY 2026 ✨✨✨ thank you for celebrating with us, LA! We’re still glowing from our afternoon sharing sake with all the lovely faces who turned out on a sticky DTLA Sunday. You came, you sipped, you snacked, and we are just so delighted by our community Every year our vendors who pour this event tell me afterwards “you have the best guests” (and they’re right) - everyone is always so thoughtful, asks the best questions, and your love for sake is just so *felt* As for us, we’re already thinking about next year, stay tuned! All the thanks to our team who made the snacks, made the room look good, and just made it happen. To our wonderful sake importers and distributors who spent their Sunday (a day off!) with us pouring and chatting, and always bring us everything delicious to keep us excited. And of course to our moonlighting host-with-the-most @lientigre for keeping us on track, keeping our spirits high, and taking all the sparkly photos 🩷

Where are they now? Playhouse is celebrating 25 years throughout this season, and we are thrilled to present our Where Are They Now? series, featuring Playhouse artists from the past two and a half decades! STEPH SLOAN "I have too many amazing memories with you all to just highlight one... but I will say that the deep spark that STP ignited within me was the hunger to tell vivid stories. Being a player in an ensemble, you learn to actively listen and react to the things happening around you to color in and give texture, depth, and empathy to the arc of the plot. Committing to a role is choosing to actively participate in the community surrounding you, both on stage and off. I've held the tenets of this very close to my heart. There are no small parts in theater orrr in life - it's just as fun to have a solo as it is to watch your friends shine and provide some background support!" "These days, I live in LA. Though I'm still making music and singing as much as I can, I work for a natural wine and sake importer. My day-to-day appointments involve me recounting the stories of the makers of these incredible products to then sell bottles to restaurants, bars, and shops across California."
