EXHIBITION NOW OPEN

Thank you to everyone who joined me for my Artist Talk at the Tom of Finland Foundation yesterday.
The talk sold out within hours, and seeing the room packed with such an engaged and curious audience was incredibly special.
I was in conversation with Durk Dehner @durkoflosangeles , cofounder and the true heart of the foundation, to whom I owe the most incredible Artist residency experience.
During the talk I shared the personal journey that has shaped my work — growing up in Germany, my early relationship with garments and drawing, my years in fashion and menswear, studying at the Royal College of Art, and eventually finding my way into costume design, painting and the communities that have influenced me along the way. We talked about how some garments have accompanied me through different stages of my life, and how my own experiences of identity, desire, belonging and self-expression have gradually found their way into my work. I’m so grateful for the thoughtful questions, the openness and the wonderful conversation that followed. Thank you for being there and for giving me the opportunity to share not only the work, but some of the story behind it.

The Exhibition is now open by appointment until Tuesday the 22nd. Please DM me if you would like to come and visit, to arrange a time.

About the Exhibition:

The exhibition brings together drawings and paintings created during my residency, including works that incorporate fragments of garments, extending the narrative beyond the drawn image. They explore how dress shapes identity, and how clothing can evoke confidence, belonging, nostalgia, and desire.

On show are also segments from a film project created at TOM House with artist and writer Alexander Abramov @abramov_lex , exploring the intimate relationship between artist and muse — the act of observing, being observed, drawing, and allowing oneself to be seen.

General Admission: 18th–22nd September, by appointment only (DM me)

AND IT'S A WRAP!

Yesterday was the last day of my solo exhibition CODES OF BELONGING here at the Tom of Finland Foundation in Los Angeles.
I could not have asked for a more exciting experience, and I am in disbelief that my three month artist residency at TOM House is now coming to an end.
Today I am sharing some pictures from the private view last week, just on time before returning back to London tomorrow.

Thank you LA, you have been wonderful.
I have fallen in love with you and I will be back!

A heartfelt Thanks to Durk @durkoflosangeles and Sharp @s.r.sharp - without your help none of this would have been possible; to my fellow artists in residence to whom I owe countless hours of bliss and inspiration, and to my muses, of which some have become friends that I will miss a lot.

Finally, many thanks to Philip @philippirolo and Roko @roko.fearon for taking photos at the PV, much appreciated!
