Second Annual Stetson Alumni Event in Boston 🌟🍻

On October 16th, Cornwall’s Tavern hosted a Stetson Alumni Event attended by over 40 Stetson Alumni, friends, and family members.

Guests enjoyed free drinks, free food, and a wonderful few hours connecting with fellow alumni.

Athletes from the HOCR 2026 Stetson Rowing Women’s Grand Master 8+ and Women’s Alumnae 4+ met for the first time in person, connecting athletes from the graduating classes between 1994 to 2026. Both crews competed at the Head of the Charles Regatta the next day.

Huge thank you to Xavier Mulligan ‘20 and Darash Desai ‘08 for planning both last year’s and this year’s event! Mark your calendars for next year 🗓️

HOCR 2026 - Stetson Rowing Women’s Grand Master 8+

The G.A.W boat (grown a** women). From most of the boat being a part of the first Stetson crew to race at HOCR in 1995, to racing together again 31 years later.

The idea came about when the crew were doing their annual/biannual row together during Stetson’s Homecoming weekend in 2025. Their coach, Dr. Curt Rausch, told them that they should race as an alumni boat at HOCR. Hotels and flights were booked, and in August they got into the Grand Masters Women 8+ division. Once that happened, the crew began sharing workouts, encouragement, and inspirational playlists.

With members traveling from Florida, Georgia, Washington, D.C., Oregon, and California, the crew reunited to race once again, wearing matching G.A.W. shirts and daisies on their hats.

Dr. Rausch is also pictured with his matching shirt and daisy. Not only was he the founding coach of the Stetson rowing program, but for most of the crew he was also their first coach (and a dad-away-from-home for many).

“The daisies refer to an absolutely horrible song from 1992 (Push Th’ Little Daisies by Ween) that we used to sing/shout together- I really don’t remember the reason why, other than we thought it was hilarious :)” - Amy Hayes ‘96
