🚨 EVENT ALERT 🚨

Atoka County has a piece of music history worth celebrating.

Decades ago, this area hosted the original 48 Hours concert and now that history is being brought back to life with Another 48 Hours, returning for year two!

Whether you’re from Atoka County, across Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, or anywhere else we’d love to see you here.

Come experience the music, the people, and the history behind this event. Help us grow Another 48 Hours into something people circle on the calendar every year and travel to Atoka County to be part of.

The history is already here. Now it’s time to build the tradition.

Come be part of it.

OL’ COALY — COALGATE, OKLAHOMA

Faded and weathered, but still hanging on.

This old bull riding mural in downtown Coalgate was known as “Ol’ Coaly” and was already a local landmark by 1991.

At one time, Coalgate reportedly promoted it as:

“The Largest Rodeo Mural West of the Mississippi.”

It fits a town with deep roots in coal mining and Oklahoma rodeo history, including the Ward family staging rodeos at Medicine Springs beginning in 1949.

The exact artist and year it was painted remain a mystery—but decades later, the cowboy and bull are still there.

A fading piece of Oklahoma rodeo history hiding in plain sight.

The first photo was taken by @stetsonfrost two years ago.

Second photo by Jim Argo taken in the early 90s for the @okhistory . The mural was still intact back then.

Grandma Elsie Lanes Momma cleaned up at the County Fair! 🏆

Not only did she take 1st place, but her quilt went on to win BEST IN SHOW! 🧵👏

Safe to say, Grandma Elsie still knows how to show ’em how it’s done. ❤️

It was an honor having Noah in the warehouse jamming with us a few months back. We’ve been slowly releasing some of the videos, and there’s plenty more to come!

If you’re in the OKC area tonight, Noah James is playing at The @bluedoorokc at 7 PM. This kid is a rising star, you don’t want to miss him.

Go catch him live and remember the name: Noah James.
