My first ever black bear hunt was nothing short of insane! The first couple days of the hunt, we were covered in bears and got to whiteness some incredible interaction between them sorting through the hierarchy and even watched a boar breed a sow at 15 yards for over 30 minutes. Nothing like the 3rd night though, when this big boar made his presence known immediately as every other bear in the area scattered as he approached. All except one younger boar that was willing to rise to the challenge, at least momentarily. The two boars squared up briefly before the dominant bear chased the younger one off directly under our tree and pushed him off out of the area! As light began to fade, the big guy made his way back towards us and gave me a perfect quartering away shot at 15 yards. He made it less than 40 yards and crashed! What an amazing week in camp with a great group of buddies. Can’t thank @spiritcreekoutfitters enough for hosting us! I am all about experiencing new hunts in unfamiliar locations and seeing the operation first-hand and everything that goes into making these hunts a success was eye-opening. If you have never hunted black bears before, I would highly recommend it!

My first experience bear hunting did not disappoint! The style of hunting and learning all about it sure was different than anything I’ve ever done before. Super laid back and fun! Best of all a ton of laughs and memories were shared at bear camp with family and friends! Big thanks to Dean and his crew at @spiritcreekoutfitters for an amazing week!

I’ve been blessed to hunt all over and shoot some amazing animals but nothing beats hunting with my kids! I just love it. This was Fisher’s 17th sit of the season and I’m super proud of him for sticking with it. Things were intense as this buck walked within 5 yards of the blind! He ended up spooking but ran out to 25 yards and stopped perfectly. Fisher gathered himself and made an amazing shot. His reaction was absolutely priceless! He was so excited and still shaking several minutes after the shot. He rambled on and on saying the funniest things. He even thought of the perfect plan to surprise reveal the buck to the rest of the family 😂 Special thanks to @claytonkcampbell for capturing all of it on video!

Another amazing trip with Flatwillow Creek Outfitters in Montana is in the books! I’ve been fortunate to go on several incredible hunts with FWCO and this one might have topped them all! My wife and kids joined elk camp for a few days! They got to go on a couple of hunts and experience some really cool things. We stacked up the laughs and memories! In the end my dad arrowing a giant bull was the cherry on top! Thanks so much to @fwcohunt and @jbrink23 for welcoming my family with open arms and making this trip so special!

What you tell yourself is what you become! I am wonderfully and fearfully made. I am a child of God. I am strong. I am capable. I am a beast. I will conquer this mountain in front of me! I believe in myself. I know I can, I know, I know I can, I know I can. My dad made me say that over and over again as a child and I still do it today as an adult! I know I can!!!! I will! Watch me! A couple weeks ago a pretty amazing thing went down. @mdwirsig63, @skylerwirsig, and the team at @heartlandbowhunter invited us down to the Heartland Premiere and auctioned off this Bowtech Carbon One to benefit the WWIA MO-KAN Chapter. Mr. @steve.kostbade said at the beginning of the evening that he was taking it home and he did in a BIG way!!! Immediately following the auction, Bryhn Craft from @mwlandgroup informed us they were going to generously match that donation. If that wasn’t enough, Outside Inside Taxidermy requested that we auction off one of their mounts and Caleb B. stepped up. We are incredibly humbled to be supported by these great and patriotic Americans! Thank you all so much for your generosity and tremendous support of WWIA and our combat-wounded veterans! 💜 🎯

Wow! This past weekend was nothing short of incredible! Friday we kicked things off with my wife and I celebrating 11 years of marriage & the 2nd annual Heartland Premiere Charity Golf Classic. Saturday we celebrated @brihunsucker’s birthday & hosted the 7th annual Heartland Premiere. Capped things off with a wonderful chill Father’s Day on Sunday! Over the weekend we raised a total of over $60,000 for charity!!! Huge thank you to all of our event sponsors and volunteers. Without you, none of this would be possible. It was an absolute honor and blessing to be able to use our platform at the Heartland Premiere to raise funds for Mental Health. Peace Partnership is a local nonprofit that provides high-quality, low cost counseling to financially disadvantaged families and kids in the Kansas City area. These funds will go towards more than 1300 counseling sessions and change lives for the better! Between the Heartland Charity Golf Classic and the @ducklandercallco donation we were able to raise $39,400! Thank you all so much!

It was a magical week in Montana! We had one hell of a group in camp and made countless memories. After several tags were punched in camp, Clayton connecting with this beautiful bull was icing on the cake! Thanks a bunch to @fwcohunt and @jbrink23 for another incredible hunt!
