RYUGI vol.44 – OFFICIAL PROMO 003 🔥

Our final promo video is here!

Big thanks to all the dancers who took part in this video and helped us promote RYUGI’s 10th anniversary!

It’s really cool to see dancers from different crews and backgrounds coming together for this project.

This is one of the things I love about the Sydney dance scene.

We’ve been running RYUGI for 10 years now, and I’m really grateful for everyone who has been part of the journey.

Only a few days left until vol.44!

Hope to see all of you there, whether you’re battling or just coming to support!

Let’s finish our 10th anniversary series together! 🙌

A notebook can’t show you your moves.

MovesBook is the training app built for breakers. Every move, every clip, every session in one place. And it doesn’t stop there: it has everything you need to prepare, train and level up your breaking, whether you’re training yourself or teaching others.

This isn’t just another app. There’s nothing else like MovesBook.

The Lifetime price you see in the app right now is the founder price, my thank-you to the early supporters. Want to be one of them? This is the last week. The offer ends Sun 18 Oct, then the price goes up.

App link in bio.

Thank you as always for the amazing work of @photography.jny and the inspirational breakin' and support of all the people I'm surrounded by, like @steve.lisheng

What would life be without breakin'?

He did a windmill. He never found out.
It was an end-of-year show rehearsal at school.

One guy hit a windmill.
I never met him.
But from that day on, I had something to look forward to.

Decades have passed, and I wouldn’t be remotely the person I am today without breaking.
Most of the time, we train for ourselves.
Create new stuff. Sharpen our rounds. Get ready for the next jam.

That guy wasn’t training for me.
For him, it was just another day.
For me, it became a whole life.

Someone at tonight’s session might be having that day.
And you’re the one dancing.

You might never find out.
You changed a life.

One day I thought:
What if my best move isn't a move?

Thinking about my best combo, I realized I never looked between the moves. I drilled that combo over and over. But when I wanted to create something new, I always reached for the obvious thing: another move.

Most of us use the same transitions. The dancers who stand out usually don't.

That's what we built LINKS for — to explore the underrated space in between.

Think about it. What if, instead of working on our moves, we worked on what's between them?

Congrats @dragonqueenmammak bringing it back after 10 years. DK Vol. 27 back in 2013 was actually the first event I'd ever shot for anyone (I was a volunteer) so the event does some have some history with me. Glad to be apart of it once again.
