💥DID YOU KNOW AUTISM & SOMATIC EXPRESSIONS OF TRAUMA OVERLAP SIGNIFICANTLY?!?! Everyone talks about being Neurodivergent, but do we really even understand what it means?! 👁️Since my parents were both ‘old hippies’ & MSWs/Therapists/Child Study Team, I’ve been involved in countless Autism nonprofits & events since childhood. But I didn’t truly understand the Neurodivergent community until recently
🐦‍🔥It wasn’t until the Spring/Summer 2021 at my most unwell that I couldn’t ignore the debilitating 😵‍💫 sensory issues including but not limited to light, noise & movement/visual sensitivity 🧩Autism is still one of the most widely misunderstood somatic responses in our society. As I’ve been on this healing journey meeting late-in-life humans diagnosed with Autism & understanding how my experiences overlap significantly w the Neurodivergent community, I began to really dig in further While I’m not trying to solve for Autism, I truly believe in my ❤️ that it will be treated as any other somatic response within the next 5-10 years 🧠Trauma is just another word for stress that overwhelms your ability to cope &/or contradicts your world view. Somatic Responses to Trauma are epigenetic (in our genes)& become expressed through environmental factors 🤌🏻According to @gabormatemd it’s never been NATURE VS NURTURE, but truly a combination of both 🙏🏻Grateful to have crossed paths w @stevecohenfun in 2024, who introduced me to Priscilla Leto, Founding Board Member @missionkidsuccess Priscilla and I sat down in September to discuss her beautiful heart-led mission & continuous journey as a parent and advocate of the Autistic Community ✨Mission: Kid Success and the Autism Innovative Community Foundation have teamed up for the annual Autism Jokes on November 16, 2025 5 - 6:30PM EST MKS5OFF 🎟️ for $5 OFF! SUPPORT THE MISSION AND GET YOUR LAUGH 😆 ON!! 💪🏻KNOWLEDGE IS POWER! ⚡️WHY GO PROJECT POD RE-RE-RE-BOOT DROPPING THIS WEEK! 👀SUBSCRIBE THE NEWSLETTER ON WHYGOPROJECT.COM TO LEARN MORE HOW-ARE U HEALING™🌊 Movement, Music, Mindset & Mantras as Medicine ✨💪🏻🤘🏻🧠 🧬🌀🙏🏻 WHY GO PROJECT Maybe Someday Another Human Won’t Feel As Alone 🙏🏻
