How do you describe a kid like Steven Gershen? How do you find the words to adequately sum up this wonder of a kid? He’s bright, articulate, a truly deep thinker, an old soul, self-aware, principled, altruistic, vocal – he uses his voice to stand up for what he believes in and stands up for others when they can’t stand up for themselves, compassionate, passionate, silly, funny, giving, loving, caring, and 100% all heart. I adore you Esteban! Every single thing about you makes me smile and I often just laugh to myself thinking about you and your ridiculousness. You’re warm, a true caretaker, fiercely protective, and always inclusive of everyone. You care deeply about others’ feelings, and always go the extra mile to make sure everyone is OK. But right now, it’s all about you and we’re celebrating everything Esteban! Your academic achievements, graduating from the McIntire School of Commerce?? Ha WTF!! Witnessing your growth as well as the lifelong friendships you made at UVA, and in your PC, warms our hearts. So today, my baby – just like when you shot into the world - without even giving Flounder from Animal House’s real life sister - who was our nurse at your birth – ha true story – the time to get you delivered, deciding it would be faster to just do it yourself, we know you’ll take that fire and fervor passion and ambition into the next chapter. Just like you heard from people last week when you escorted some first years back to their dorms and to safety during the unrest on campus, you are a true mensch steven. Our mensch!
