A whirlwind trip to NY with my best buds:
1: my joy of finally purchasing Ladureé macarons and yes, they were amazing.
2-3: High Line Happiness
4: Hudson Yards looming
5: my heartbeat on the High Line once in 20 lifetimes
6: @katzsdeli best matzo ball soup I have ever had
7: the Los Amigos of Astoria
8: the Los Amigos of Astoria in the flesh
9: little Pomeranian that mooched off the bits of egg from the bacon egg and cheese bagels. A real sweetie.

“Til next time” sounds like “yeah maybe we’ll cross paths again” but no. These are most of the New World friends that got me through when I was deep down in it. A bond we will never break. I love you always 💕

Big week over here friends! First of all, Happy New Year! I hope it’s a fantastic one; plenty of great times, happy days and fulfilled goals. Second, it’s my 20th season with the @stlsymphony! Every day for the past 20 years I have felt grateful to be Principal flute of such a great orchestra. On top of that, I have my birthday coming up next week. (Im actually turning 25 in dinosaur 🦕 years...). So, help me celebrate this week! If you have any fun stories, pictures, favorite recording or anything you would like to share it would be a real gift. Instagram has been a wonderful way to meet new friends, and connect with all the great students and colleagues I’ve known over the years. I would love to hear from all of you.
Use #marksparksweek and tag me so I can see. 🙏🍾🍰

My goodness, what a rainy day it is, making my own sunshine ☀️ today! This is the programme I played in Sunday’s concert, it really gave me so much energy and positivity, isn’t it amazing how music can influence how you feel so quickly? Which pieces resonate the most with you? 🎶
Sending you lots of good vibes & sunshine for your Friday, much love, Katharine xxx

Dabbling with duets before the symphony in Grand Park! (Also completely stuck in the corner of a tiny practice room in the library) 😆 Somehow we managed to get a take without laughing. Everything is better with a pinch of salt, even chocolate. This shaker is old, got it from a second hand store. Just because it’s the same design that we’ve had in my family since ”forever”. So there are some layers in this picture - the philosophical salt idea in life (things mustn’t be too easy always), my family ❤️ and memories, also the fact that I really like cooking & baking. Luckily the holidays are here and I’ll have more time (and energy) to mess up my kitchen! 🤓🍅🍓🍒🌶🍎🍷🥢🥤🍿🍫🥫🍉

Another big congratulations to our alumni Leah Stevens (MM 2015 Flute Performance) for accepting a fellowship with the New World Symphony in Florida. It’s incredible to see what our former students are achieving !
