A week in the Funlands

PROJECT COMPLETE

This bungalow has had the full works – open plan layout, 5.2 meter steel, new kitchen, modernised bathroom, fresh porch & utility, a big garden clear-up & much more in between 🔨 (including an unexpected asbestos shed removal).

12 weeks start to finish👏🏼 (with the 2 week delay)

A few lessons for next time: I’ll look at fully tiling the bathroom, give more thought to the garden space, and always factor in those surprise costs and delays.

Super proud of this one 🙌 excited that this is now on the market… already on the hunt for the next project 🏚️

Popped by this weekend to check in on progress, and we’re now heading into the final few weeks of the project!

The property is due to hit the market in just about two weeks, so I thought I’d share a quick side-by-side of where things are now vs where we started — full strip-out to near-completion.

You’ll also spot a visual of how the patio doors are expected to look once installed (thanks to GPT).

What’s happening over the next two weeks:
• Doors, skirts and arcs to be glossed
• Patio doors installation
• Bathroom completion
• Flooring throughout
• New steps to be built — both from the patio and driveway
• Porch finishings and final touches
• All walkways jet washed and refreshed

Exciting times ahead — almost there now!

New week, new pictures of previous work done.

Last week was a slow ish week, with the builder having a few people on holiday.

Top coat has been done, and kitchen has been delivered and it’s being built!

Delayed patio doors - for a good reason. Two bungalows down the road is having a huge extension, and we are taking their old patio doors that fit perfectly, only thing we need is new glass for them!

Concrete lintel has been installed - building regs insisted, meaning we got the final certificate🎉

This week:
- kitchen to be fully done
- skirts, arcs and doors to be fitted
- patio doors to be delivered on site

Stay turned for more updates 🖖🏻

Asbestos garage has also been removed, not cheap.

Kitchen and patio doors being delivered and installed next week 🫡
