A právě tady mě Mastodon začal bavit nejvíc. ‼️Shrnutí v komentářích‼️ 8/10 ⭐ - povedený hororový výlet do míst, kam by člověk raději neměl strkat nos. Protože když vám úřady řeknou, že tam nemáte chodit, možná k tomu mají zatraceně dobrý důvod. 🌲🏔️😈 #stevestred #mastodon #horror #goldedogbooks #martinstefko

We’ve got a New Try Not to Die on the shelf! Try Not to Die On Werewolf Island by Canadian author @stevestred is one of the newest additions to the series. These interactive novels are like a choose your own adventure for adults, but if you make the wrong choice you die! 📚💀 If you’ve been curious about our Try Not to Die collection, now is a great time to try one out! With every purchase you’ll get a ballot to enter. Prizes include a Try Not to Die In Canada t-shirt, paperback of your choice, and a tote or mug 🎫 We have tons of great titles to choose from! They make great spooky season reads as well 😉 🐺 BOOK OVERVIEW 🐺 Welcome to Survive the Five: the new reality show that could make you famous, if it doesn’t get you killed. Influencers Aaron and Steph think a slot alongside four other beautiful couples is their big break. They should’ve worried about the producer, washed-up 1980s porn star Brock Boulder, whose comeback runs on manufactured drama and one unforgettable location: Werewolf Island. The contestants are ready to flirt, fight, pose, and scheme for the cameras. They are not ready for what comes out after dark. Perfect for fans of interactive horror, gamebooks, and pick-your-path adventures, where every choice could be your last. Steve Stred’s raunchy, gory horror-comedy crosses a cheesy R-rated creature feature with the shameless excess of reality TV. Seven brutal deaths, two alternate endings. The producers want drama. The island wants blood. @try_not_to_die_today #rereadusedbooks #independentbookstore #ottawabookstore #trynottodie #indiehorror

#kniznisvet #kniznizavislaci #goldendogbooks #bookstagramsk #booklover

Happy Release Day! Try Not to Die on Werewolf Island By Steve Stred Man, that was exactly what I needed, in order to get back on my feet after a couple of very heavy and depressing horror reads! Absolute fun, thanks to the brilliant sarcasm and the engrossing (and gory!) action scenes. I never thought I'd be entertained that much with an interactive werewolf horror comedy, but Stred knows his stuff and takes care to set everything up step by step carefully, before dropping the reader into the carnage! The setting is a private island where five couples have been selected to participate in a survivor reality show. The narrator (ie. you) is a social media influencer, Aaron; he's extremely likeable to follow (pun intended), and his wife is Steph, a much better (and sexier) version of himself lol. They're supposed to compete against four other couples for a large sum of money. But little do they know what they're really up against! Every couple of pages or so, I as a reader had to make a choice for Aaron, not always that important beforehand, and then, well, I usually died. I did get to the island, I did start competing, and well, all hell broke loose and I died, and died, and died again. Don't be like me, act bolder! No restraint! The werewolves were true beasts, the chases were very well done, and many dilemmas of all sorts came up till I had a handle on things. Unfortunately, I didn't survive the experience, but wisely there's a Survivor Version appended, where no choices need to be made, and you can easily read the book as a typical story - and survive! Stred has nailed it once again, and the book is a joy to read and play with. Highly recommend!
