This much was known in advance: that a German would open Miu Miu. So maybe Claudia Schiffer or Julia Stegner? Both were still in Paris on Monday. But things turned out quite differently – it was Sandra Hüller. We could have guessed earlier, because she has a connection to fashion: The actress („Anatomy of a Fall“) appeared in Phoebe Philo’s spring 2024 campaign, and in October 2024, she graced the cover of German „Vogue“. At Miu Miu on Monday, things were more robust. The 47-year-old actress, who was born in Suhl, wore a dark blue work jacket and a mid-blue apron. As Miu Miu stylist Lotta Volkova later said, the aesthetic ideal was the images of the late East German photographer Helga Paris, who became known primarily for her photographs of everyday life in the GDR. „I wanted to portray the work and suffering of women back then,“ said Miuccia Prada after the show. „The apron is deeply rooted in our history.“ She also showed the strength of the women who persevered as mothers and workers. Sandra Hüller embodied the power and dignity on the runway: she led the armada of models with a firm stride.
