Relay for Life - meaningful, inspiring, impactful, and emotional.🎗️❤️ March 21 was a night of connection, courage, and community. @relayforlifestfx brought us together to honour loved ones, celebrate life, and support those touched by cancer. 🫶🏼 The organizing committee, the @stfxcheer and @stfxdanceteam, @stfxswifties , @_adnancoban , @brandonfirlottemusic, @clarksmith_25 , @_dominicgibbons, and every volunteer created a space where we could laugh, reflect, remember, and stand together, each of us carrying our own story of how cancer has touched our lives. ❤️‍🩹 Together, the group raised $44,000 for @cancersociety this year - a new record high and a reminder of what compassion looks like when turned into action. 🎗️🫶🏼 A special shout‑out to the students who donated their hair for wigs and to those who shaved their heads in solidarity. Your actions speak more than a thousand words and your impact is real. ❤️‍🩹 If you’d like to donate your hair, check out Wigs for Kids. 🤗 To learn more about or support the Canadian Cancer Society🎗️ or Camp Goodtime 🏕️, you can explore their work online (cancer.ca and camp goodtimes.org). My love letter to X Cheer… When I came to Stfx I was hesitant to try out for the team because I’ve been doing cheer my whole life and was losing my passion for it. It was a lot of back and forth with myself but ultimately I tried out and I have never once regretted it. Dear White Team, I have truly never grown so much as an athlete or a person than I have on this team. Being a part of such an accepting and encouraging environment for four years has truly been one of the greatest gifts. This team has brought back my love for this sport, coming off of the mat on Sunday was one of the most bitter sweet feelings ever because I knew it was over but I also knew that I would always have a home and the memories of this team would last forever. I could not be more honoured to be apart of this team, through everything I am proud to be an X-Cheer White team alumni. I love you all 🤍 Dear Blue Team, I can’t express how much you all mean to me. I started coaching Blue Team my second year and never once did I feel unappreciated or not worthy of being a coach. This team showed me so much love and I am forever thankful, coaching blue will always be one of the most special moments of my life. People often asked how I balanced both teams with school and it was the athletes who made it possible. Watching you all perform and just have fun with each other made every moment worth it. I am so thankful for everything this team has shown me and I am so excited to see where it goes. I am more than just your coach I will be here always when you need anything. I love you more than anything my Blue 💙 So bittersweet to know that 13 years of your life is over, but in my head I know I will find my way back to cheer at some point. Thank you for everything X-Cheer, I will miss you forever ❤️‍🩹
