This was probably my most proud moment post-St. George marathon! ⭐️

Since Lula ran the half marathon, it made me think of this moment 20 years ago (swipe ➡️ for the original). We decided the night before we’d recreate this. My biggest concern was that I’d drop her after running a full marathon (I even made her husband come over to catch her just in case 😬) Luckily, I had no problem holding her for this little photoshoot 🔥

It’s not the perfect recreation—but kind of a full circle moment. Who knew 20 years ago this girl would become a runner and we’d get to share workouts and finish lines 🤩

My relationship with my nieces is so special to me. I’m so blessed to have a front row seat to all the amazing things they do. And I get to be a first hand witness to the remarkable humans they’ve become. 🥺

Can’t wait for more finish lines with her and her sisters! 🖤🖤

❤️ This year’s St. George Marathon was #LikeNoOther! 🏃‍♀️

When you know it’s your last, you experience it differently.

Kind of like your last child. You know how quickly time passes, so you slow down, savor every moment, smile a little more, and soak it all in.

That’s exactly how I approached my last St. George Marathon. ❤️

This year, I didn’t race. I just RAN for the pure JOY of running.

I smiled.
I talked to the runners around me.
I tried to encourage and motivate others.
I thanked the volunteers.
I soaked in the beautiful scenery.
And I was grateful for every single mile.

At mile 17, I had a mind shift. Instead of thinking about how many miles I had left, I thought about how lucky I was to still be doing something I love.

I wasn’t counting down the miles. I was making the miles count. ❤️

After four decades of running, I’ve learned that the best races aren’t always about your finish time. Sometimes they’re about the people, the memories, the gratitude, and the simple gift of being able to RUN.

The 50th St. George Marathon was truly #LikeNoOther, and it will always hold a special place in my heart. 🏅

And now, one final chapter…

Next year, I turn 60, and I’ll be running the Boston Marathon! 💙💛

My final 26.2.
My four-decade marathon finale.
And what a way to finish this incredible journey!

Until then, I’ll keep running, smiling, and being grateful for every mile.

Because when you know it’s your last, you make it your BEST. ❤️

MY FIRST MARATHON!!!!!!

If you had told me 10 months ago (or literally even 2 weeks ago) that I would finish a marathon, much less finish it in less than 4 hours, I would have laughed in your face!!! From dealing with a knee injury the entire time I was training, to taking six months off bc I was so anemic I had no oxygen, to moving twice/taking the bar/starting a new job/not sleeping a wink in the weeks leading up to the marathon, I really did not think this race would happen.

By some miracle I felt good pretty much the whole time (as you can probably tell by my psycho smile) and was just waiting for the pain cave and it didn’t come?? For sure still hard (esp bc my injured knee) but also the best day ever 🩵🩵🩵

Also HIGHLY recommend having your friends/family record voice clips for you to play at certain miles (I used an app that played them automatically!). So grateful for all their support the messages literally got me through all the hard parts🥹 #stgeorgemarathon #marathon #firstmarathon #running

St. George Marathon (Utah): 45th lifetime marathon! Since I already did the Ogden Marathon near SLC, I wanted to see how St. George compares! This was extremely HOT and had zero shade! However, the red rocks were beautiful and definitely made the trip worth it!

I’m fortunate that my mom was able to fly out to join me! And I’m fortunate that I was able to celebrate 50 years of the St. George Marathon!

Another 13.1 in the books!
I honestly love this tradition my family has! The St. George race with all of our favorite people over conference weekend! It’s worth all the sore muscles!
