Want to try my favorite mocha coffee in Canton, GA? 😉

I sat down with Anna Hickey to talk about what makes Stitch such a special addition to Canton — and the story behind it makes me love it even more! ❤️

The Hickey family isn’t new to coffee. Before coming to Georgia, they owned The Coffee Potter in New Jersey, and when they opened Stitch Coffee here in Canton in 2025, they wanted to create more than another place to grab a drink.

Even the name has a connection to Canton. “Stitch” pays tribute to our area’s textile and cotton mill history while also representing their goal of creating a place that helps stitch people together.

That really describes the shop well. It’s bright, comfortable, and designed to be somewhere you can meet a friend, get some work done, have a coffee meeting, or just stay awhile.

They serve handcrafted coffee and espresso drinks using Crimson Cup coffee, along with pastries, breakfast and lunch options — and if you’ve followed me for any length of time, you probably already know that I’m a little obsessed with the Frozen Stitch Mocha. 😂 It’s basically what happens when you can’t decide between coffee and a milkshake.

I love getting to highlight locally owned businesses like this and introduce you to the people behind them.

Canton’s history is woven, literally, into the story. This town grew up around @themillonetowah generations of families who worked the textile industry that put Canton on the map. Dave and Anna didn’t want to lose that thread, so they built a name that honors it.

@stitchcoffeecanton isn’t about yarn or knitting clubs. It’s about stitching this community back together, one cup, one conversation, one regular who becomes family, at a time. The mills may be gone, but the spirit of people coming together to build something with their hands? That’s still very much alive here.

Sometimes the best names aren’t invented, they’re inherited. Dave and Anna just said yes to carrying it forward.

Full conversation with Dave and Anna is live now, @thebigyespodcast wherever you get your podcasts and on YouTube.

Sat down with Dave and his daughter Anna, the fam behind Stitch Coffee, for a conversation about the moment they said YES to opening @stitchcoffeecanton. The fear, the mess, the tension of not knowing if it would work. And now? Stitch is a community fav and collaborating with local partners and CCSD to build something even bigger.

Yes wasn’t always just an answer. Old English, it meant “so be it.” A verdict. And Dave and Anna handed theirs down the day they opened these doors.

Thirsty Thursday is calling. 🍻

Some places are worth taking the scenic route for. Good conversations and the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to stay a little longer. This week’s stop is another reminder that some of Cherokee’s best experiences are found one sip at a time, this time at Stitch Coffee.
