i recently have had the privilege to talk to a lot of other artists about what they love doing and their identities. and what i’ve noticed from so many of them is that they don’t like doing just one certain thing, but rather, they’re passionate about several different art practices and end up feeling limited because of how hard it can be to be taken seriously as a multimedia creative. i’ve often felt the same way, and have (on more than one occasion) been told that my portfolio should only feature one thing. either photography, film, or design. and even then, that i should only showcase one kind of photography. while the people who’ve told me to just pick a lane are well intentioned and correct (my life would indeed be much easier if i just stuck to one thing), i don’t think i’ll ever be able to bring myself to do it. i love creating too much to ever restrain it. i made this poster to talk about that exact feeling. i’m aware of my talents. i know what i can do. and it’d be a disservice to myself and others to not do it. i’m a jack of all trades, and i’m a master of all of them. also i needed a new profile pic that’s actually the main reason. cartoon drawing of me by @stkales ofc

6 years ago today, I dropped ‘love, sadkid’ and introduced myself to the world. All I wanted was a strong love life, friends who supported me, and a clearer head on my shoulders. I can’t believe I’m saying this sadkid’s but we did it! I’ve spent a long time these past few years trying to figure out what’s next for me, since I never really planned to be super famous anyways… I think I wanna help anyone who will listen learn about the love they deserve, and about how to share a smile in your most trying time. I hope y’all always continue to support me and the soundtracks to our lives like you have since 2017, and if not; Thank YOU for changing my life ☺️
