The hardest goodbye i've ever had to make.
Dear softball, This sport has given me so many things in this life. To say I will miss it is an understatement. I am beyond grateful for the people i met, the opportunities I was given, and most importantly, the memories that were made. I learned so much about myself from this sport and it taught me so many needed lessons for my future. I want to thank my college coaches, Kristi and Joe for giving me the opportunity to not only play at a higher level but also get a free education. Thank you to my pitching instructor, Coach Greiner, who taught me almost everything I know about pitching. I want to thank all of my teammates for giving me memories and lessons I will never forget. I have made lifelong friends in this sport i will cherish forever. A special thank you to my stlcc girls who made me feel so at home and welcome, I will never forget it. I want to thank my boyfriend for supporting me on this journey and always cheering me on. I couldn't have made it through college softball without you. Thank you to my mom who never missed a game and taught me how to throw my first softball. If it weren't for her coaching me in t-ball, I wouldn't be here. I saved the most important one for last. The biggest thank you to the best dad and coach ever. Words can't even describe how I feel about ending my softball chapter with you. Thank you for everything that you did for me, all the lessons, the equipment, the dedication you had for me and my dreams and goals. thank you dad there is absolutely no one else I would rather play for and end my career with. Thank you to everyone who believed in me and thank you to the ones who didn't cause it only pushed me to where i am today. Lastly, thank you to my guardian angels above that are always looking out for me. I know little Courtney would be proud of what I have accomplished. While my playing chapter closes, I know this is not it for me in the softball world. This sport is a part of who I am and I will continue to give back to it in any way that i can. #14 out ✌🏼
