Sour Patch Kids is tearing down Oreo’s billboard. And the product benefit is right there in the behaviour. For its “Not As Sweet As They Look” campaign, VCCP shows the colourful characters destroying a neighbouring Oreo poster, taking the brands’ social-media rivalry into the street. What makes this work for me is how closely the idea follows the product. These sweets look innocent, then deliver a sour surprise. The characters do the same. Their appearance sets up an expectation; their actions overturn it. The outdoor placement adds another layer. A neighbouring billboard becomes part of the scene, giving people a reason to look across both ads and piece together the joke. That’s a useful creative question: if your product’s defining characteristic became a behaviour, what would it do? Here, “sour” gives the brand a personality and plenty of trouble to cause. Creative by VCCP, with Girl&Bear and St Marks Studio.

UNMISSABLE MOMENTS

New work from @christopher_ranson Produced by @stmarksstudios

Here at Banjoman, we know just how magical those unmissable moments with your kids can be. Chris has captured that feeling perfectly!

Chris Said: ‘Anyone with children knows that imagining what they’ll be like in 5, 10, 20+ years is something magical. That exciting idea of who they’re going to turn into, but also utterly terrifying in knowing how huge a role you play in shaping that person. We wanted to create something that did justice to all those little moments along the way….not just the happy ones, but the difficult, messy, ordinary moments too. The real ones that end up mattering.’

Can’t wait to see what Chris does next!

@visa commissioned 20+ illustrators to create visual representations of their home countries as part of their global sponsorship of the Fifa 2026 World Cup (here). The brand approached us to bring 5 of these artworks to life as hand painted murals. We produced 4 paintings across multi-cultural London, using hyper-local targeting to hit international diaspora’s across the capital, and positioned the English illustrator adjacent to the O2 Shepherds Bush Empire as an official World Cup fan park. We also painted a Scottish illustration in Glasgow at the SWG3 venue to target Scottish fans supporting their team at their large capacity viewing events. A fantastic creative campaign and super colourful collection of artworks to get to bring to life on Visa’s behalf.
