I was on a call with a group of people who carry other people’s results like they’re their own, and the same guilt kept coming up. If they don’t grow, it must be me. If they quit, I must have missed something. So you coach harder and cover more and hand over hours you don’t have to someone who hasn’t done the first thing you asked.

Honest question, who are you actually protecting when you do that? Because it’s not them. You’re just teaching them that your effort can stand in for theirs.

You can love someone and still refuse to do their part. You can care and still say go to work. You can wait for them without carrying them.

And when they finally show up, you’ll be right there, because that’s who you are, and who you are is good.

You have to spend money to make money in this business

If you want to make serious money selling life insurance, you have to be willing to invest into leads. The agents doing big numbers aren’t afraid of ad spend because they understand the goal isn’t to spend the least amount possible—it’s to get a return on what you spend.

Buy leads. Get good at converting them. Reinvest. Repeat.
