⛏️New (to me) rock alert!⛏️
One of the things I love about this craft is discovering new rocks and minerals. Satin flash opals form with bubbles and striations of inclusions. These opals are mined in Utah, formed near geysers and hot springs. Geothermal hotties 😎🔥The internal bubbles and opalescent sheen make these a beauty to behold!

It was time for a change and I brought out this gorgeous Ivory Creek Variscite and man isn’t she gorgeous? I love the beautiful denim blue veining!! Shout out to @stonebounty for this stunning stone.

It’s still so hot here and no rain. I hope we have some rain soon. Hope you are having a safe and fun Labor Day weekend.

I’ve been reflecting lately as to who I am as a silversmith. I am magically drawn to very unique matrixes and coloring in turquoise and I enjoy creating big and bold pieces. I want you to feel beautiful and confident when you are wearing my pieces.

What draws you to my pieces? Does it make you smile? What do you think about my new piece? I just listed it in my shop. This stunning Pilot Mountain was cut by @stonebounty

Sending you sunshine,

The timeline of a custom…

A very special custom pendant and earring set for a very special lady. We were asked to create a Turtle pendant, though not a sea turtle, but a land turtle. First time for us. Our customer who was really our partner in this had an idea of what she wanted. Brian fine tuned it and the end result is so cool. He’s got texturing details and leg positioning details that make this Sterling silver turtle come to life. From stone selection, to design and fabrication, take a little journey through our carousel of creation photos.

Halfway through we were asked if we could make some complimenting earrings. Special thanks to Dana @stonebounty who helped us match (from a photo!) the Desert Bloom turtle body to a stone the she had that she could transform into an earring pair. Both the pendant and earrings arrived in time for their special day.

Thanks A for your trust in us and a very Happy Bday and many more! 😊🐢

Love this Desert Bloom Variscite which naturally looks like a heart. Added a frame of silver around it which acts like a bail and gives you multiple options one how to wear this one. This pretty Desert Bloom Variscite Cabochon was cut by Dana @stonebounty

December is always a month of reflection for me. Reflecting on this last year, the upcoming celebration of Christ’s birth and looking forward to family time. It’s also a time of slowing down and just enjoying life.

I just completed this pretty necklace today. If she speaks to you reach out otherwise it’s going to a new western boutique in my hometown. Super excited about this new venue and the opportunity to have my pieces in a retail setting.

Breaking news!!!!

I finally carved out a moment to photograph this new piece out in the wild. And by wild, I mean wandering around my own yard because solo hikes are not happening for me right now. Even so, the light was perfect and the colors came through beautifully.

Last week I shared my work with the wonderful Morris Plains/Parsippany community and the experience stayed with me. Meeting everyone reminded me how meaningful it is to create pieces that someone connects with. I introduced three new necklaces at the show and I will be sharing them throughout the week. Each one is created with recycled sterling silver and salvaged materials that I have collected from my scrap pile.

This first necklace features an irregularly shaped dark moon hubei. Its green gray blooms move through the black matrix in a way that feels honest and earthy. There is natural pitting across the top that speaks to the way nature forms things without polishing away every mark.

I have a bunch of pieces looking for new homes in my $h0p! This one in particular will be available tomorrow morning!

If you want to support a small business this holiday season, this is the time!

Another frog is on his way home. This Sonoran Mountain Turquoise frog was a custom order (NFS). But he was so cute he needed a place on our page and of course I have to add him to our frog pond stories! I love the color and shape of this little guy. So fun!

*Have a happy life little dude! 🐸🩵
