May is Myositis Awareness Month Hooray!

I live with an autoimmune disease called necrotizing myopathy which basically means my immune system is working too hard. So much so that it is actively eating away at my muscle groups. Thus if you see me in the streets I'll be in a wheelchair for my own safety.

Now. Let's talk about the lack of access for the disabled community.

I've had my wheelchair damaged by United Airlines because they were being careless with my equipment. There are so many restaurants I can't go to simply because there are stairs. Outside of major cities, I can't even catch an Uber or Lyft because they don't have a WAV option.

I need you all to advocate for people like me because we exist and have the right to live a fulfilled life. Be as annoying as you have to. Don't take no for an answer. As Maya Angelou said:

"The truth is, no one of us can be free until everybody is free."
