Introducing 🕊️ Rachel Allpress 🕊️ @stonedwaisted

Rachel is a total one-off. A lady of huge passion, drive and remarkable talent. It is rare to find someone who creates clothes with so much thought, attention to detail and style and when I first discovered ‘Stoned and Waisted’, I was blown away.

In 2003 Rachel Allpress founded her company ‘Stoned & Waisted’ originally as a belt company which she has since expanded to include a range of blouses, dresses, coats, skirts and knitwear.

Born out of Rachel’s passion for everyday luxury and the desire to create treasured items which will last a lifetime, all her fabrics are sourced from premium grade designer ‘dead stock’ and produced in limited quantities, so you can treasure each one-of-a-kind piece, knowing it’s something very unique and always better for the planet. Her clothes are made in the UK, only using skilled local craftsmen and traditional techniques.

Rachel designs her clothes from her studio near Bury St Edmunds in rural Suffolk.

For Curator&Maker she is curating a very personal collection of coats, waistcoats, blouses and skirts celebrating beautiful fabrics and beautiful clothes and most particularly a skirt that has been inspired and named after my mother, the ‘Juno’ skirt. We are so thrilled that she will be part of this very special Curator&Maker show.

From Brighton to Bakewell! 💨

Hedgerows bursting with blackberries, rosehips and sloes, in the glorious autumnal light, trees alive with bird song.

Curator&Maker on the road to meet the makers of our Christmas Pop up, opening on Wednesday 18th November at Green and Stone Framing Gallery @framingatgreenandstone @greenandstone.

A little wander around Dublin yesterday, with a few stops at the gorgeous boutiques in the Westbury Mall. I just love the mix of stores there, and the warm, personal service you receive in every single one. Come along on my little shopping trip… I definitely didn’t leave empty handed! Can you guess what I bought?

Serving up some autumn looks from @stonedwaisted when it popped up in Burford.

Think female founded and designed by Rachel, hand made in small quantities in Suffolk from Italian designer deadstock fabrics. And then there’s the sheepskins…oh boy they are magnificent 🩷 Truly sustainable and where the phrase “Buy well, wear Forever” has proper credibility. It’s all, and I mean ALL, exquisitely constructed and feel so good on the skin.

I would never be able to say which is my favourite because they’re all so good…..but what yours ?😉
