‘Until I’m Free’ by @nathan.imboden feat. @aromusicao , @akl_metropolitan_orchestra , and @stonefieldschoirnz was performed by over 160 musicians and made its debut at the EAST MEETS WEST III (2026) concert at Holy Trinity Cathedral following 6 months of writing, composing, rehearsing and refining. It was written and composed by @nathan.imboden Nathan Imboden with Te Reo Māori lyrics by @aromusicao , conducted by @robert_charles____ , orchestrated by @e.f.j.fagan ,and arranged for a choir by @christinabevan . This song is about staying true to your path in the face of adversity and staying connected to your ancestry and their shared purpose. It is about listening to your inner voice when other voices are pulling you further from your truth. The full live performance video is available now on YouTube and the recorded studio version will be arriving in the coming months.

24 hours of magic 🥹✨
This was an incredible experience, getting to sing with both an amazing artist, orchestra and choir in such a beautiful space!! When our friend Nathan asked if we wanted to co-write a tune together that we'd then get then get to perform live with 100 talented humans....we were so excited by the idea and it was sooooo cool seeing it all come to life last night at Holy Trinity Cathedral!

Here's a little BTS from a very magic 24 hours 🤎
Huge mihi to the whaanau who gave the tautoko with our littles to make this possible 🥹🙏

We can't wait.

EAST MEETS WEST... MEETS HOME

At its core, East Meets West III is about connection, and what better way to celebrate our home in Aotearoa than bringing together an incredible lineup of local voices and storytelling?

We are thrilled to feature singer-guitarist Nathan Imboden, the magnificent Stonefields Choir, and the beautiful, award-winning Māori storytelling duo Aro in a powerful, collaborative segment of our programme.

Together, they will bring you:
- Orff’s O Fortuna (from Carmina Burana) – The Stonefields Choir will unleash the dramatic, thundering power of this iconic masterpiece.
- You’ll Never Walk Alone – Another beautiful performance collaboration between the Auckland Metropolitan Orchestra and the Stonefields Choir.
- Until I’m Free – This piece is a truly special work written by Nathan Imboden and Aro, arranged by Erin Fagan and featuring the Stonefields Choir. It brings our local kiwi singers together, highlighting the powerful message of unity.

Experience the magic as the Auckland Metropolitan Orchestra meets the heart of Kiwi vocal talent 🇳🇿✨

Perfect way to close off 2024- performing my song ‘Through the Rain’ feat. @stonefieldschoirnz live to a packed Auditorium. When I wrote the song in a room with just my guitar in 2018 I could never have imagined that I would get to play it on a stage like this. We were able to raise 15k for Auckland city mission on that December evening and I am beyond grateful for the music I got to make in 2024. Happy new year and bring on 2025.

The Stonefields Choir's sold out Winter Concert fundraiser last Saturday raised an amazing $6,686 for our organisation. 😊

We are extremely grateful for the choir's generosity and the community support that made this event such a resounding success. These vital funds will allow us to continue providing compassionate, holistic care to those facing a life-threatening illness.

On behalf of the entire Dove Hospice & Wellness team, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Stonefields Choir for their exceptional performance and dedication. And to all the generous attendees and contributors who came together to support our cause, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. ❤️
