Basalt is one of the oldest building materials on earth, formed as molten lava cools and solidifies into volcanic stone.

Its rich charcoal colour, natural texture and exceptional durability have made it one of the finishes our clients are asking for most right now. It's easy to see why.

A bathroom that feels like a work of art, right down to the smallest detail.

In the Grand Groveland project by @jarrett.design, sweeping slabs of travertine create a striking architectural backdrop for elegant @kallistadesign fixtures and a sculptural @stoneforestinc bathtub, carved from a solid block of limestone. The contrast between the natural stone and contemporary cabinetry gives the space a distinctly modern character while allowing the materials to take center stage.

And perhaps the most impressive detail? That 1,800-pound bathtub had to be craned through the window to make its way into the space. A true statement piece in every sense.

Inspired to create something similar? Both Kallista and Stone Forest are available through Decorator’s Plumbing. Visit our Miami Design District showroom to explore the collections and let us help you bring your vision to life.

Every kitchen needs a statement piece and there's nothing quite like the hand crafted texture of a custom metal hood to elevate a cooking space.

A powder room is the one room in a house that can afford to be loud.

Nobody spends more than a few minutes in it. There is no morning routine to get through, no storage to hide, nobody standing at the mirror at six in the morning. The pattern that would wear you down in a bathroom you use every day is exactly right in a room you pass through.

The basin sits on an open stand with the plumbing left exposed and finished to match the tap, so the underside of the sink is part of the design instead of something to box in.

Small rooms can take a bigger swing. Nobody lives in them long enough to tire of it. Mural wall, basin on an open black stand, plumbing left exposed, organic edged mirror, tube pendants

It’s all in the details. Three things you might have missed in this space:

Skylights positioned above custom shelving to give the plants their own little sunroom.
Natural stone countertops that bring beautiful texture and character to the space.
Sleek tab pulls that keep the cabinetry looking clean and uninterrupted.

Sometimes it’s the smallest details that make the biggest difference.
