Completed Project @StormingGravity @TheExchangeTRX

“Materials react with one another and have their radiance.”
— Peter Zumthor

Stainless steel is one of those materials that leaves almost no room for neutrality.

You either see something cold, clinical and industrial—

or you see light.

Because stainless steel was never really about being practical.

It’s about tension.

The way it catches the last light of the day.
The way timber suddenly feels warmer beside it.
The way a reflection stretches a room beyond its edges.

Hard against soft.
Cold against warm.
Precision against imperfection.

There is a certain arrogance to stainless steel.

It doesn’t try to look natural.
It doesn’t pretend to be warm.
It doesn’t apologise for being industrial.

And perhaps that is exactly why it works.

Used badly, it feels sterile.

Used carefully,
it makes everything around it feel more alive.

It runs cold.

Until it doesn’t.

FLAGSHIP RETAIL · 旗观店空間
Designed by NGO Studio

📸 by @davidyeowphotography

Stepping into our latest work on TRX @StormingGravity Flagship retail concept, visitors are immediately enveloped by sweeping stainless steel curves that redefine the traditional shopping experience. We designed the central space to feel both expansive and intimate, utilizing a continuous metallic facade to guide the customer journey while reflecting the dynamic energy of the room. The fluid, curved walls strip away harsh corners, creating a smooth transition between the apparel displays and the central service counter.

At the heart of the design is the infinity loop stainless steel conveyer belt product display, with a sleek, mirrored chamber that elevates everyday tumblers and accessories into striking visual centerpieces. By blending these highly polished, futuristic surfaces with soft, ambient ceiling illumination, we created a balanced environment that feels cutting-edge yet grounded.

The interplay of light and steel allows the merchandise to naturally draw focus while visitors navigate the seamless spatial flow.

I’m currently in Las Vegas, and everything I packed for this trip fits inside the Pakt One Travel Backpack V3.

At 35L and just 1.6kg, it fits my clothes, camera gear, laptop and all my travel essentials… with room to spare! It’s lightweight, durable, comfortable, and even expands for an extra 5L when you need it.

That’s how I travel light ✈️

Happy 61st Birthday, Singapore!! ♥️🇸🇬

To all Penguin Commanders near and far, have a great National Day celebration today. 🎆 Going to stay at home to watch the parade. Have a safe one for those attending!!

This year will be significantly more memorable for me as it's the first time I got to attend a preview with my eldest daughter. Such a fond memory for us.

Added some older photos too cause they looked awesome. 🤣 Apologies to the Penguin Commanders. I cannot remember who's is who's photo.

Majulah Singapore!!

Stay frosty,
Ben
