Oct. 24 – Arc Welder Studios & Leila del Duca book signing

Join Damon Noller along with Portland artist, Leila del Duca on Saturday, October 24th, from 5-7pm in Pioneer Place Mall, downtown Portland! Damon will have issues of “lumberjack horror” comic, PELTS, and KAIJU LIBRE, from Arc Welder Studios. Based in Boise, Idaho, Arc Welder Studios was founded to craft scripts for creator owned and work for hire comic books, graphic novels, animation and more. Leila will have copies of her new graphic novel Serpentine.

Pelts – A young lumberjack, helping to solve a gruesome murder mystery, must survive both the real perils and legendary horrors of logging lore. Told in Gothic Horror style, this story takes the creatures of tall tales told in lumberjack shacks and turns them into horrifying monsters protecting their mysterious home in one of the last remaining old growth forests of the Great Lakes: the Elk-like Hugag becomes a creature made of ancient pine. The combustible Gumberoo becomes a massive, primordial bear whose tar-like skin, while impenetrable, will explode upon contact with a mere spark. And our chief antagonists, the tree-creeping Argopelters, from which the title comes, hurl wood splinters and ‘widow makers” from high. Coupled with the dangers of river logjams, falling timber and forest fire, our lumberjacks will face a dangerous, horrifying adventure.

Kaiju Libre™ excitement mashes up colossal Kaiju-style monsters with Lucha Libre wresting action.

SERPENTINE is Leila del Duca’s latest science fantasy adventure comic. It follows Ixcel, a student in the midst of finals, Choice Day, and abruptly finding out they’re an astral projector. Ixcel doesn’t have time for that! They must figure out how to juggle all of their responsibilities while helping another astral projector, Boetema, with a world-altering threat.

Over the weekend I was at Juneau’s Alaska Robotics Gallery for a showcase of some of my line work from this last year and a morning workshop. The gallery features some of my original cover pages from @ignitionpress “Showdown”, @idwpublishing “TMNT: Casey Jones”, @storyarcwelder “Pelts,” and @criticalentertainment “First Americans.” Plus the comics from the art
If you’re passing through Alaska’s capital city stop in and check it out.

Getting around Industry City at @bicsbrooklyn may have been a little confusing at first, but it was honestly worth getting to know more creators! (2/3)
