A few literary highlights from Paris that don’t even scratch the surface, but worth visiting:
* Bibliothèque nationale de France (BnF). Free and open to the public. Reading rooms, cafe, museum. No lines.
*Shakespeare and Company Bookstore (bought these 2 books, got the stamp!)
*Oscar Wilde’s grave @ Père Lachaise cemetery
*Claude Monet’s writing desk at his house in Giverny (apparently he wrote lots of letters!)

I love the surprises travel brings. This trip to Paris has been refuel for the soul—the art, the culture, the architecture, food, and geography—but especially the friends from all over! Always important to reconnect with our people. 🧡

Drive-by gelato with award-winning filmmaker @itsahnswee fresh out of Cannes; graffiti & street art fun with @beyondthestreetsart; all the way from Italy & Prague, @bobafettacini (thanks for the hair tie, Simone!) & the ever-talented @robotclouds; touring cemeteries with friend & former editor @shelleyleopold & @michaeldelahaut ; impromptu Ethiopian food with Mike Paarlberg; browsing photos with new French friend @ardouinphilippe
Thanks, mes amis.

Long weekend in Wilmington finally visiting @shawnajkenney and @straightedgetile, the hosts with the most. I met both their moms and their sweet puppy, Buddy. We walked five miles on a gorgeous, empty beach with clean sand and hardly any people. (Imagine that.) Rich took me to an eclectic museum and a cool record store/bookstore. We drank delicious tea at a cute outdoor book fair and did yoga on the pier. We ate wonderful vegan pizza, and I was able to tell Shawna how much she changed my life. Who knew we’d be friends today when I saw her bio at the UCLA Extension writing program and knew I had to meet her thirteen years ago? Thank you, friends! Until next time. Boarding a flight to LAX. Back to regularly scheduled programming. ✈️💕☺️ #stillneverseenanyalligatorsinperson
