Luigi Mallozzi
And i will call you.. cornetto! , 2026
Oil on canvas with removable carboard box
40x30 cm

On view through Sept 6.

In “And i will call you.. cornetto! ”, Luigi Mallozzi reflects on the cardboard box as both a symbol of abandonment and the beginning of rescue. Depicting the first encounter between a person and a cat looking up from inside a box, the work captures the moment when two strangers meet and an unexpected bond begins to form. The box becomes more than a temporary shelter: it is transformed into an accidental parcel carrying a new life, responsibility, and an unforeseen kind of love. The title also references the way rescued animals are often named after small details surrounding their discovery (please check the picture in the comment for reference), turning a chance encounter into the beginning of a shared story. The work is rooted in Mallozzi’s own experience of finding his black cat, Nerone, in a box much like this one.

FLOHAUS Gallery is pleased to present A Home Together, a group exhibition on view from August 27 through September 6, 2026. Opening Reception: Aug 27, 6-9 PM. Curated by @freya.art.symphony

Presented in recognition of International Homeless Animals Day, the exhibition brings together 27 artists exploring the relationships between humans and animals through companionship, care, rescue, coexistence, and belonging.

The exhibition unfolds in two interconnected parts:
ENCOUNTERS — Group Exhibition
Encounters explores care, rescue, memory, and the emotional bonds between humans and animals. It reflects on the moments through which connection and a sense of home begin.

HOME TOGETHER — Salon Presentation
Home Together presents small-scale works in an intimate salon setting. It reflects home as a shared space shaped by art, animals, and everyday life.
