Big shoutout to our party birthday girl @meredog for bringing the MdR crew back together to celebrate YOU ❤️ We love you so much.
Such a fun night ldancing and being silly together. These moments don’t happen often enough, which makes them even more special when they do. Love our little MdR neighbor crew.

Finally some footage and final pics of the CMYK mural in Downtown Austin, TX.

As you can see, the mural itself has many layers, it almost takes on a holographic look where you doubt your eyes. We wanted to play with the layering of the colors as a printshop would layer CMYK to create the whole spectrum of color.

The final plan is to have a spot light on the mural as well as the black light which activates the otherwise clear UV Aurora Borealis inspired lights emanating from Bowie’s magic hands. As time goes on we will figure out how to capture the many looks of this piece.

Good job to CMYK for their successful soft opening last week! They pulled all this together like a miracle!

Montana UV spray paint info from my CMYK mural in Dowtown Austin, TX. I know that there will be more footage taken as well as more light to explore on this piece in the future. We are still figuring out all of the applications this paint opens up for the mural as well as how to light such a unique design.

Tip 1: use a black light while applying paint
Tip 2: use a calligraphy spray tip if you’re creating smoke like shapes to get the thick and thin lines
Tip 3: put a clear finish of your preference on top to equalize the sheen of the spray paint versus the background.
