Golf is Life!

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Linked up with my buddy @stretchgolfacademy for a round of golf at Franklin Park. Jason & I go back to just before Covid when he was managing a restaurant on Revere Beach that I’d visited often. He saw me posting some golf content and reached out. He’s a golf instructor, I’m an amateur. I badly needed some lessons so he helped me out. I learned a lot but still have a lot to learn! After playing, I took him to @freshfoodgeneration in Codman Square. I’ve had Fresh Food Generation on my must try list for over a year (at least!). One of my followers had told me to try them out so I’ve been wanting to ever since. When Jason told me to come play at Franklin Park, I didn’t even think twice about where I’d be grabbing lunch after.

Fresh Food Generation started in 2015 as a food truck with the idea of bringing healthier, locally sourced, affordable food to the neighborhood. They stepped up and helped the community tremendously during the pandemic too. The food is super fresh and the menu is made up of innovative plates with Caribbean & Southern flavors. Right up my alley! Every single thing we got was straight up delicious. So much flavor. So light, so fresh. Nothing went to waste and I felt like going to play another 18 after this. That’s how you know the food is made with high quality ingredients, and love! Thank you @freshfoodgeneration for what you have brought to this neighborhood. If I was a Dorchester resident instead of Lynn, you’d see this mug much more often.

⛳ GROWING THE GAME. GIVING BACK. BUILDING COMMUNITY. 🏌🏽‍♂️🏌🏽‍♀️

SFS Golfing Society was proud to host 35+ young people from We Belong for an unforgettable introduction to the game of golf at Golf Lounge 18!

We rented out 6 golf bays for two hours and brought in a golf instructor (Jason Jackson) to give the kids a hands-on introduction to the game. The first hour focused on instruction and the fundamentals of golf — from the basics of the swing to understanding the game. During the second hour, it was time to have some fun, as the kids put what they learned into action and enjoyed the different games available on TrackMan. 🎯⛳

And of course, we made sure everyone was fed! 🍕🙌🏽

The entire experience — golf bays, instruction and food — was fully sponsored by SFS Golfing Society as our way of saying THANK YOU to We Belong for the incredible volunteer support they have provided over the past two years at our Annual SFS Golf Tournament.

Their young people have continuously shown up to support our mission, and this time, it was our opportunity to show up for them. ❤️

At SFS Golfing Society, our mission goes beyond the golf course. We believe in creating access, introducing the next generation to the game, building relationships and providing opportunities for young people to experience golf in a welcoming environment.

A huge thank you to We Belong, Golf Lounge 18, our instructor (Jason Jackson), and everyone who helped make this experience possible (Eddie DePina and Corie Fletcher).

This is what community looks like.
This is how we grow the game. ⛳

The winning foursome does it again!🏆 Back to Back Champs of the Alpha’s 2024 Edward W Brooke tournament!🏆⛳️
It was a pleasure playing alongside other BBGA members as well, and enjoying a little friendly competition for such a good cause! 🙌🏽 #communitysupport

The Edward W. Brooke, III Educational Foundation has taken on the mantle of the man for whom it is named and fights daily to address the lack of access to higher education that faces many Black students and works tirelessly to dismantle the historical barriers that have long plagued poor, Black, and other underserved communities. 🙌🏽

It was an honor to be among so many great golfers, while raising funds, & taking home the W!🙌🏽🏆 Here’s to next year!
