After Carol Kalahan passed away, many in her neighborhood reflected on the impact she made throughout her 101 years. One such neighbor was Stroll Lakeside publisher Debbie McVicker.

Carol loved her local Stroll. In fact, she contributed to Debbie's publication 41 times! She even earned her own series named Carol's Corner. Eventually, Carol moved outside of Lakeside, but for three years, her request was the same: to continue seeing Stroll Lakeside in her mailbox each and every month.

Today we're honored to share Carol's own story, as featured in Stroll Lakeside and written by Kai Curry, which serves as a testament to the incredible life she led.

We are so honored to be on the cover of @strolllakeside magazine’s December issue!

We recently had the distinct pleasure in hosting and welcoming guests and readers of Stroll Lakeside to our Belle Pétale studio @courthousesquaretacoma for a “neighbors night out” event, where we guided our guests through the European art of floral design by using and highlighting locally grown blooms to create a “à la française” bouquet. 💐

Merci beaucoup to Debbie of @strolllakeside and @macaluso_italian._.restaurant for an exceptional and delicious evening, and to all of our guests who were in attendance for making the event a most delightful experience! 🌸

Thanks so much Debbie McVicker, with N2 Publishing, for sharing with us how you connect neighbors in their communities through your published magazine. You do such a great job with Stroll Lakeside, for Gravelly and American Lake, and Stroll Canterwood, introducing the residents to the best local businesses and connecting them through their own photos and stories. If your business is in that area or you know someone who would like to get into the magazine, reach out to Debbie! Debbie.mcvicker@n2co.com
