if you’re a big fan of the underground hyperpop scene, daine and aldn are two names you may find yourself loving 💛

their new collab “i used to k*ll” is huge news for mega fans of the underground hyperpop scene as both are regarded as somewhat legendary in that scene. this collab perfectly blended aldn’s more dark rock-like feel while also including elements of daine’s light and poppy almost bubblegum electro-pop style

it’s one of the three tracks released in the advance of daine’s new album “in endless awe and agony” and it’s definitely gathered a lot of hype for the full release of the project

aldn is someone who brings a lot of darker elements and intense guitars to the hyperpop/emo-pop scenes. “icantbelieveyougetaway” has a bunch of elements of metal and screamo vocals baked into an electro hyperpop produced beat

it’s far from your typical hyperpop track and the visuals of aldn in the woods and abandoned homes really help establish the darker vibes of this track. it’s a huge difference from what diane is putting out which makes their collaboration such a cool moment for the underground

daine is an australian hyperpop artist with a lot more of a bubblegum pop feel to their electronic sound. tracks like “pqc” really embody that more bittersweet and light feeling. it’s the kind of song that you just feel like running through a field jumping around with your friends to

it’s one of the other releases from “in endless awe and agony” and personally one of my favorites so far. the album has been described as “raw and emotional” and definitely seems like one of daine’s most emotionally expansive projects so far

two of hyperpop’s biggest rising stars just made one of the gnarliest subgenre fusions of the summer with the release of “i used to k*ll.” what do y’all think? did you mess with the lighter bubblegum pop portions or the darker emo pop sections of the track? will you be tuning in for “in endless awe and agony?”
