LOAD-VELOCITY PROFILING for RESISTED SPRINTS: here is a 2-minute video describing the Load-Velocity profiling we did with resisted sleds as part of our acceleration-focused practice last week at West Chester University Track & Field @wcutf.xc To complete Load-Velocity profiling, athletes do a series of sprints using a range of resisted loads and the velocity decrement is measured for the resisted reps compared to the athlete’s unresisted top speed. Using simple linear regression, this data collection generates a Load-Velocity profile for each individual athlete, which enables quantification of the resistive load and resulting velocity decrement with more precision compared to simply documenting absolute resisted load or relative resisted load as a percentage of the athlete’s body weight. Watch this video to see how we completed this for some of our athletes in practice last week. Please DM me if you are interested in learning how to complete LV profiling in big-group settings in a time-effective manner. Equipment & technology used: Spud Inc nylon drag sleds @spudincstraps , Stryd Speed foot sensors @strydspeed , iPhone video with Kinovea software. Thanks to athletes in video @nick3tran and @evan_mccracken_ . Also thanks to WCUTF coaches @coachlilypl_ for facilitating this data collection as part of practice and @david.kramer8 for helping with the video recording. Lastly, for more in-depth information on Load-Velocity profiling, check out the free webinar on this topic from my friend and colleague Dr. JB Morin @jb.morin.1 on October 14 (more info on his IG page). #sprinting #speed #biomechanics #acceleration #trackandfield

Happy to announce my NIL partnership with @strydspeed Proud to be part of a docuseries that will follow my collegiate season, my journey back to world-class performance, and how Stryd has helped me rebuild after injury. Their technology is revolutionising how sprint data is captured, understood, and used by athletes and coaches. Excited to show the process behind it. 📸: @kennajadephotography

Speed is more than the time on the clock. It’s how an athlete gets there. For Coach Niko Karavolos at @ignite__performance, Stryd Speed provides step-by-step data from every rep and race, helping him see where athletes reach max velocity, how fatigue changes their mechanics, and where their sprint strategy starts to break down. From in-person sessions to remote coaching, Stryd Speed gives coaches data they can actually coach from. See what Stryd Speed can bring to your athletes.
