Getting more trigger time with the @smithandwessoninc MP 5” equipped with an @overwatchprecision trigger at a distance of 25 yards. My focus has been on refining my grip technique, vision and adding in transitions while maintaining higher level of accuracy. As with all my pistols, running @vendetta_outdoors APEX and @otghex MK11 AIWB holster.

Working transitions from AIWB at 25 yards with 5” x 5” targets. Par 6 seconds with 6 rds.

Lubricated with Vendetta APEX, it has now completed 5,831 rounds without requiring additional lubrication or cleaning, and the lubricant continues to perform reliably.

Playing around with the @smithandwessoninc MP 5” equipped with an @overwatchprecision trigger at a distance of 40 yards. My focus has been on refining my grip technique and vision, while testing @vendetta Apex with this pistol.

Working from a seated position from AIWB, which of course means you have zero stance for stabilization.

This particular polymer-framed pistol is fitted with a @apextactical barrel. Lubricated with Vendetta APEX, it has now completed 5,121 rounds without requiring additional lubrication or cleaning, and the lubricant continues to perform reliably.

THE @combat_precision “LEO” & UNEVEN TERRAIN

IF WE ARE BEING HONEST, THE ONLY TIME YOU WILL HAVE THE PERFECT STANCE IS ON THE FLAT RANGE. HAVING THE PERFECT GRIP WITH THE TEXTBOOK WEIGHT DISTRIBUTION IS A MYTH, WHEN WE STEP ON THE TWO WAY RANGE. WE ARE ALWAYS AT A DISADVANTAGE. WE ARE REACTIVE.

THAT BEING SAID, AND KNOWING THAT....I FEEL WE NEED TO TRAIN TO THAT EXTENT. WHAT ARE YOUR TIMES. WHEN MOVING FROM A LEVEL 3 HOLSTER OR EDC RIG, WHAT HAPPENS.

HERE IN THIS DRILL, I AM AT 25 YARDS ON ABOUT AN 3’ INCLINE FROM THE FLAT SURFACE. I AM SETUP WITH MY RIGHT LEG HIGHER, SO, WEIGHT DISTRIBUTION IS CHALLENGING....THEN I HAVE TO DRAW FROM A @BLACKHAWK T SERIES LVL 3 AND ENGAGE.

IN THIS SCENARIO, THIS IS WHERE YOUR TOOL, THE WEAPON OF CHOICE IS A GAMECHANGER. TAKE OF INSTANCE THE LEO. WITH THE FLAT SHOOTING CHARACTERISTICS AND ACCURACY, I DON’T HAVE TO HAVE PERFECT FUNDAMENTALS UNDER STRESS OR IN THIS CASE, 0 TEXTBOOK FIRING STANCE, BUT, I CAN STILL ACHIEVE ACCURATE HITS ON TARGET.

NEXT TIME OUT...WORK ON GETTING UNCOMFORTABLE. THIS WILL SHOW YOU THE FLAWS OR ISSUES IN YOUR FUNDAMENTALS....LET ME KNOW

COLD WEATHER TRAINING

How many have actually trained during inclimate weather.

Yes, it’s sucks….yes, your times will be slower due to all the snivel gear….
Dexterity will be effected. If shooting in gloves….your trigger manipulation will be effected.

But, you will see that with solid fundamentals, you can still be effective.

On the draw of your pistol, it is even more essential to get in the “slot” and ensure you have your weapon on target during the presentation.

It can’t always be 80s and 90s when Murphy shows up..

Train accordingly. And happy to report the new cold weather gun lube is performing flawlessly.

What do you bring to the table?

“YOU ASK YOUNG SON, IF I CAN TEACH YOU TO BE A WARRIOR, ALAS I CAN NOT FOR ATLAS YOU WERE BORN A WARRIOR, BUT I CAN TEACH YOU TO NEVER DOUBT YOURSELF AND LIKEWISE PUT DOUBT IN THE MINDS OF ALL THE MEN YOU WILL FACE.” - BEOWOLF OF GERMANIC STEEL

DO YOU DRYFIRE? This is the first question I ask students.

Dry fire practice is a cornerstone of effective pistol training for several important reasons. It allows shooters to build and refine critical skills in a safe, cost-effective (FREE) and focused manner without the need for live ammunition.

Here’s 10 reasons why dry fire training is so important, if you want to get better. I personally Dryfire daily:

1. Builds Muscle Memory and Consistency
2. Improves Trigger Control
3. Enhances Sight Alignment and Picture
4. Cost-Effective Practice - ITS FREE
5. Safe and Controlled Environment - NO NOISE
6. Refines Draw and Presentation
7. Develops Focus on Fundamentals
8. Prepares for Defensive Scenarios
9. Tracks and Measures Progress
10. Safe Manipulation Practice to get use to your weapon

Conclusion
Dry fire training is an invaluable tool for any shooter, beginner to experienced. By incorporating dry fire into regular training routines, you can achieve significant improvements in performance, while saving on the cost of ammunition and range fees.

LEARN FROM THE PAST. When you awoke this morning, your candidate may or may not have won. With that, we must REMAIN VIGILANT. There are 2 months remaining before the President-Elect @realdonaldtrump takes office.

What history has told us, there are groups that will result to violence and destruction. The GENERATION of PARTICPATION AWARDEES may push for “demonstrations and or civil disturbances. Why? The current regime in power is the same personnel that sat by, watched and encouraged the disturbances and destruction a few short years ago, or have we forgotten? Now the “free” things will be coming to an end. Now deportation of illegal personnel is a realization.

Utilize Situational Awareness when in public places. Situation can be unpredictable and quickly escalate. Here are a couple of points to maximize your safety.

• Stay Informed: Keep updated on local news or alerts about the potential riot’s location and progression. Use reliable sources for information.
• Avoid the Area: If you know the location of the riot, avoid it entirely. Don’t try to witness the event or pass through.
• Have an Exit Strategy: If you must be nearby, identify multiple escape routes and places of shelter before entering the area. Know where you will go if the situation escalates.
• Stay Calm and Collected: Riots are chaotic, but remaining calm will help you think clearly and make better decisions.
• Blend In and Avoid Drawing Attention: Don’t wear bright or provocative clothing. Avoid attire that could be interpreted as support for one side of the conflict.
• Keep Your Distance from Law Enforcement and Large Crowds: LEOs might take action against the crowd. Maintain distance from both the rioters and police.
• Avoid Taking Photos or Videos: Documenting the riot can make you a target and potentially expose you to risks from both sides.

Remaining aware and adaptable to changing conditions is essential.
