Collection 5: “Remnants”

Throughout history great civilizations have been destabilized and destroyed to the point of erasure. In the immediate aftermath of destruction the remnants of the great civilizations are often tossed to the side with the rest of the rubble to be pulverized to dust. Overtime however some of the overlooked pieces reappear and those remnants end up becoming building blocks and cornerstones for the next wave of greatness.

Despite earning $3 billion from DC every year, Clark Construction continues to be involved with the controversial ICE HQ project in Southeast DC.

Join me, community leaders and activists this Monday at 5 pm as we visit Clark HQ (1200 New Hampshire Ave NW) to demand that they choose our humanity, dignity and community over profit and corporate greed.

Clark must choose between DC or ICE. They can no longer have us both.

Collection 3: “In the spirit of Frederick Douglass”

It’s so easy to get lost in the hustle and bustle. Shidd in D.C. people pretend to be busy just to avoid the overstimulating chaos that we like to call culture. Monetization of trauma and persecution masked as advocacy. It’s cool to support a cause as long as we can do so comfortably. We have become complicit in this chaos with our silence. As long as our lifestyle, image and pockets can remain upright it’s not that bad. But there are few who are courageous enough to rise above all the noise and take a stand against what we all see as evil. In the spirit of Frederick Douglass someone must take a stand and advocate for those who need true advocacy. A modern day abolitionist. Shoutout to Guida. Stay safe homie.

This is a photo series by Yakob Christopher.

There are so many issues that Washingtonians face daily and when it comes to solutions we start everywhere except in our communities. 3 years ago we sat down with a group of young men from a Northeast DC community simply because they had something to say. Normally Black history month is all about celebration but it’s also about amplify voices. What better voices to amplify than the ones who are rarely acknowledged. So have a seat, grab some food, gather your friends and family and just listen. Thank you. Full episode out now on our YouTube channel.

Straight to the Point, Straight to the Streets. Connecting communities with conversations.

The Law of Ambition: What you pursue with clarity and discipline, you inevitably embody. | Creativity is not just art-it is the expression of self-awareness and the foundation for the life l’m choosing to create.
Ascend + Align — MASTERY IN MOTION:
You are meant to evolve, to shift, to rise again and again.
You are not confined to one version of yourself. You carry both strength and softness, excellence and emotion. Your discipline is your power, and your femininity is not weakness
—it’s divine strategy. You don’t need permission to become more-just the courage to keep choosing yourself. I The Artist| Art Herself. ✨🦋

With heavy hearts, we share that he lost his life on April 22, 2025 due to complications from gun violence injuries-you fought hard for us and now you can rest beautifully and make the changes you wanted to see from heaven. We love you and will miss you, deeply. #EndGunViolence #ForeverJuJu 🧡🕯️
