A Polaroid from when I photographed @therammellzee just before he passed on, it was a life altering experience. Thank you @stuartargabright for vision. I have been lucky to photograph many artists who tap into another plane of reality, it is what draws me to them.. but Ram LIVED that life. I was lucky enough to go to @futuradosmil studio in the early days of @ideageneration and hear from Futura a bit about how real these realities were in the early days ..and that the artworks are projections from this other World..”don’t give up the coordinates!”

Slide 1: Max's Handbills c. 1979, on the right and 1980 on the left. A quick way to tell is if it has "Video" at the top and/or a checkered border it's from 1980-81. Contortions (RIP James), Student Teachers, 8 Eyed Spy, Rotating Power Tools (shortened to "Power Tools") later known as The Lounge Lizards @john.lurie.art , Science (RIP Johnny Science). You could line out a fun week of gigs with either handbill. I'd be out every night! Slide 2: VV ads c. 1981. Again, imagine opening the paper for something to do and having your choice of these gigs....🤯 #maxskansascity #nypunk #nowave #suicide #ikeyard
