For the average drinker who can’t discern, there is a lot of subtleties and differences with each expression of single malt scotch whisky, and who better than Stuart Fear, Asia Regional Ambassador for GlenDronach, Benriach and Glenglassaugh, to help us discern and differentiate. We speak to him about these 3 distinct distilleries, styles and most common misconceptions.

For the complete feature, see link in bio.

A 1972 Glendronach side by side tasting:

Glendronach 1972 40yo Cask 713 bottling. Blueberries, cherries, chocolate, oak tannins, leather, cloves and tobacco. The beautiful marriage of whisky, sherry cask and age.

Glendronach 1972 38yo Cask 718 bottling. Apricots, guava, citrus, mint and toffee. What a fruit bomb! Maybe it was a vintage Bowmore cask accidentally bottled?

What a style contrast from the same distillery, vintage and cask type with slightly differing age statements.

😎
and then this happened..
😎
7️⃣0️⃣Glenlivet 1943 bottled in 2013... yes, that makes this a whopping SEVENTY years old7️⃣0️⃣
😎
drawn from Cask no. 121 which was a First Fill Sherry Hogshead only FORTY TWO were bottled - that’s kinda insane - at 49.1% abv💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
😎
this spent the first 24 years at Glenlivet distillery before being transferred to the masters at Gordon & Macphail for the final 46 years of maturation
😎
giveaway anyone?
😂
🤣
😂
🤣
seriously though I can’t see an occasion to open this but I REALLY want to taste it.. all honesty, a bottle like this should come with a separate 10cl sample🙏🏼🙏🏼
