Honored to have been a part of this special night celebrating Dolly Parton’s life and music. I played two songs in the acoustic intro of the show and then got to enjoy the mighty Steve Mackey crush it the rest of the night. Big props to Danny Rader who always does a fantastic job as Music Director for all the CMA shows. Always great to see my pal of almost 20 years now KRog!! She and everyone in the house band sounded so great.
Group in first video; Stuart Duncan, Molly Tuttle, Bela Fleck, Vince Gill, me, Ricky Skaggs, Lainey Wilson, and Eddy Dunlap.

We’re over the moon to announce the release of our sophomore album, “When the Kettle Sings” is officially out today!!!

In early January we picked, plucked, bowed, and sang into a handful of old microphones at the legendary Sound Emporium Studios in Nashville. Under the guidance and wisdom of our producer T Bone Burnett @tboneburnettofficial we poured our hearts and souls into 10 originals, 1 cover, and 1 reimagined folk song. A snapshot captured like a Polaroid, real and raw acoustic music straight to tape, just like the O Brother, Where Art Thou sessions T Bone produced 25 years ago at the same studio in the same format.

Our amazing fiddle player Grayson had not yet joined the band, so we were accompanied by fiddle maestro Stuart Duncan, which was an honor to, in his words, “live on the edge.” We couldn’t agree more. His experience and expertise was the syrup on the waffle.

We also worked with co-producer Daniel Tashian @thesilverseas, an intelligent and talented individual with mossy, rich ideas that elevated the sound.

We’re so thankful to all involved in this project: the incredible @mollytuttle for her vocal contribution on “Josephina,” @ketchsecor high lonesome harmonica, the infamous @ridersinthesky on “The Stone”, the brilliant and brazen Burle Galloway, engineer wizard Mike Stankiewicz, our manager extraordinaire Doug Altman, our labels: @thirtytigers and @soundlymusic , booking guru Barron Ruth & @crossovertouring , Pine Brand Print Shop @pinebrand and the love and support of our families, friends and fans. We couldn’t have done it without you.

Some of these songs we’ve been playing live for some time now, some are practically brand new, but despite the wait, we’re so happy to share them with you all in recorded format, so you can listen at your leisure, in the car, at home, on a plane, lawnmower, chairlift, bicycle or toilet.

We hope you join us tonight at the Bluebird in Denver, and if you can’t make it, we hope you give the album a listen.

Love,
Taylor, Sam, Tom and Grayson
