POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

We had a great Friday with SATW and friends up at Squamish Canyon, where we walked along the elevated pathways into the canyon and experienced the gorgeous views of the rainforest. We headed over to take in the beautiful sight of Mamquam Falls, where the relaxing cascading water flowed through the canyon. Half way through the journey, we stopped for a lovely lunch at the forest lounge, surrounded by the lush trees and fresh air.
Thank you @squamishcanyon for the hospitality and guided tour and thank you to @tourismsquamish for providing the transportation with the Squamish Connector!

“He disliked the title of philanthropist. He felt the word has an undertone of a hierarchy between rich donors and those in need. He preferred to see himself as a social worker. — Marybeth Dee

Old bike leaning on wall.

I was using a tripod to get the best quality low ISO image of an old bike against a colorful facade.

Changing lenses and compositions, a few minutes passed and a large crowd of curious students from the nearby school formed a semicircle around the tripod. I noticed a young boy watching intently and asking questions. Thinking the kid might be interested in photography, I asked the driver/interpreter what the kid wanted to know. Turns out the kid wanted to know why I was taking some many pictures of an old rusting bike, when there were so many newer, shinier ones just around the corner.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

What beauty do you see that most people overlook?

Neptune, God of the Sea, hanging out by his fountain, Palace of Versailles, France

The palace took 35,000 workers to build. Had over 700 rooms and an opera house. The gardens took over 40 years to finish. In today's dollars, it cost more than US$300 billion to finish.

The upkeep was taking up to about 25% of the country's budget and helped cause the revolution that overthrew the monarchy.

The king could've listed some of those rooms with Airbnb, and maybe avoided the revolution...🤔
