Today, we celebrate the dental hygiene profession and the people who make it extraordinary. 💜

Dental hygienists prevent disease, educate patients, expand access to oral healthcare and strengthen the overall health of their communities. Their knowledge, compassion and dedication make a difference every day.

Help us recognize someone who represents the best of the profession. Tag a colleague in the comments and tell us why their work matters to you. 🌟

Then shine or wear purple, take a photo and tag CDHA as we celebrate dental hygienists across California.

Advocacy in action: CDHA members helped stop AB 1952. 📣

AB 1952 proposed requiring the Dental Hygiene Board of California to establish an alternative pathway for internationally trained dentists to practice as dental hygienists—with associated program costs funded through dental hygienists’ licensing fees.

CDHA members contacted their legislators and made their concerns heard. Thanks to the collective voice of California dental hygienists, AB 1952 was halted and will not advance.

This victory demonstrates why membership matters. CDHA gives dental hygienists a unified voice to protect the profession, uphold educational and licensure standards, and influence legislation affecting our careers and patients.

If you are not yet a member, don’t wait until the next challenge arises to make your voice count. Join or reinstate in October and save $25 with code DHM26. Discount valid for licensed dental hygienists joining for the first time or rejoining after a membership that expired in 2024 or earlier.

New members will be entered into a drawing to win an iPhone 17, Students will entered to win a NBDHE VIP Package, and all CDHA members will be entered into a separate prize drawing!

Together, we are stronger. 💪
