Harrison Gale is an architectural designer based in Adelaide/Tarntanya, co-founder of the design studio Moraene, and a teacher at the University of Adelaide. His work moves between architecture, object and installation. Across each, he is interested in how ideas are represented and translated between mediums.

Elaine Thomas is an Adelaide/Tarntanya-based textile artist, maker, and founder of label Tricote. Trained as a molecular biologist, she brings organic motifs and scientific concepts into her contemporary knitwear practice.

Their lighting collaborations, Glitch and Blip, combine architectural thinking and the craft of knitting, using the limits of each to reach outcomes neither discipline would arrive at alone.

𝗜𝗡𝗧𝗥𝗢𝗗𝗨𝗖𝗜𝗡𝗚 @dither.dither.dither

Dither is a simple, practical device that gives your discarded phone a second life. When paired with the Dither app, the device emulates the color temperature of outdoor ambient light, quietly repurposing the unused technology sitting in our homes. Enclosing an old phone inside the device softens the output of its high-resolution screen into a purposefully subdued, low-intensity display.

Dither mirrors natural light cycles, shifting from the cool whites and blues of moonlight to warm morning tones as daylight breaks. It can also tone down your screen during quiet routines, like storytime, watching a movie, or listening to music.

Designed and fabricated in a home studio, Dither is a study in small-scale production: achieving maximum effect with minimal resources. Through intentional problem solving, it turns modest materials and accessible fabrication into a refined, market-ready product.

Bridget Saville is an emerging artist and designer based on Kaurna Country. Since 2022, she has focused on clay as her primary medium, exploring its intrinsic responsive qualities and its capacity to record pressure and movement.

Working with both wheel-throwing and hand-building techniques, she also enjoys developing tools and jigs to further test and stretch the limits of the material.

SATURDAY YARD WORK by Nathan Martin is a Kaurna/Adelaide based practice that aims to find a medium between sculpture, craft, and functional objects by delving into material experimentation and processes. Embracing unorthodox production methods, Nathan seeks to uncover unexpected visual and sensory outcomes manifested in form and texture.

Through the crafting of unique pieces, his experimental and process-driven design ethos celebrates the unconventional, embracing the imperfect and the intricacies of handmade objects.

𝗜𝗡𝗧𝗥𝗢𝗗𝗨𝗖𝗜𝗡𝗚 @eden.wellings

Eden’s practice explores the relationship between material, memory and transformation through the use of super white clay and reclaimed linen fabric. Created by imprinting, folding, creasing, bending and tearing white clay with remnants of French workwear linen from my family’s former linen workwear business.

Often her pieces are glazed and spray painted, providing a considered contrast to the surfaces. The painted surfaces are then waxed to seal and soften the finish, while silver stitches are sewn into the clay as a final textile gesture.
The work sits between functional lighting, sculpture and handcrafted objects.

COMING UP // Power Surge - Into the grid

‘Power Surge – Into the Grid’ features prototype lighting designs created by JamFactory Studio Associates working across glass, metal, timber and ceramics. The prototypes were developed as part of JamFactory’s annual product design challenge ‘Design a Thing’, led throughout 2026 by JamFactory’s Creative Directors.

As part of their training, Associates accepted the challenge to develop a functional light fixture or lamp which incorporated a metre long LED strip into a product design suitable for the marketplace.

600 Grit unites jewellery artists from the Jam Factory of South Australia’s Associates Program and invites the creation of new experimental exhibition work. The show explores a range of contemporary approaches to jewellery as sites of sentimentality, history, memory and cultural correspondence. Presented as a curated group exhibition, the project provides insight into emerging directions in Australian jewellery and metal practice, fostered within the shared working space of Jam Factory and city of Adelaide.
