@cynthia_corbett of @cynthiacorbettgallery celebrated her Sweet 16: Young Masters Retrospective on 67 York Street Marylebone, London. I was thrilled to visit and meet a few of the artists, the lovely @dolaposh and charming @charlesmoxon amongst 31 artists chosen from 16 years of the @youngmastersartprize, an international curatorial platform and art initiative, founded in 2009 promoting emerging artists of all ages and nationalities, focusing on artists who draw inspiration from art of the past. Young Masters Art Prize, one of many projects @cynthia_corbett has initiated as well as “Focus on the Female” a curatorial project began in 2021 an all-woman showcase that explores the powerful and diverse oeuvres of female artists, both established and emerging as a founding member of the Association of @womenartdealers (AWAD) #AWAD

Loved meeting @dolaposhdaily, a photographer and visual storyteller based in England @studio.dola, known for themes in her work that explore self-identity, motherhood, and postpartum depression. She is a @leicawomenfotoproject
Award Winner and the Founder of @auricmoms - a community for mothers' mental health, creativity, and postpartum journeys. And meeting @charlesmoxon, a British portrait painter based in London and New York. He takes inspiration from the painters of the 17th century. In 2022 he was Awarded a Certificate of Excellence by the @the_portrait_society at exhibited at @royalsocietyportraitpainters in London, who is known for his commissions.

Let’s ship one of my original masterworks, “Butterfly Voice,” a portrait of @funke_williams that delves into the depths of a young woman’s silence, unravelling the layers of societal expectations. It serves as a reminder of a woman’s right to be heard and empowered, amplifying silenced voices to reclaim their stories.”*Year 2018. Thank you to the lovely @jocelyn_thiery for putting my work forward and sharing our story. It is such an honour to have this work go to a private collector who values art and supports young artists ❤️

Since the premiere of @nwanyibuifefilm I have tried to find the words to describe how deep this film and project was. The calmness, electrifying flow and spiritual art displayed in the movie were so inspiring. I am grateful to have been a part of this beautiful project. I was moved to tears by the work of @chinwe.me and how she put together my thoughts on postpartum depression, healing and prayer. The film is still showing @everymancinema King’s Cross till October 19, and the link to the tickets is in my Bio. The film is also coming to Manchester! Exciting!
Thank you to everyone who came out to support us. It means everything. ❤️

All my love,
Dola

I remember growing up in Nigeria and watching @moabudu Moments with Mo on TV. Many years later, I received the opportunity to work with her. She invited me to her home; she was warm and embraced me like her child. As I pointed my camera at her, all I saw was an inspiration and a business mogul. It was such an honour to be commissioned to document her day. Happy Birthday again, Aunt Mo. 💕🎥 🎬

All my love,
Dola ❤️

'Dola of the Lilies'
Painting this for @dolaposh was such an amazing experience. It was such an exciting project because she’s a phenomenal artist herself. This was inspired by her mother & child series, which I’m a huge fan of, so i was so happy when she reached out for me to paint one of her most engaged photographs…an easy “yes”.
