ｓｌｏｗｅｄ + 𝓇𝑒𝓋𝑒𝓇𝒷 is open again this weekend!

Visit us tomorrow and Sunday from 1 - 5 PM at Het Archief Artspace. Free entry!

Participating artists: Gjorgji Despodov (@despodovv) + NVDP (@studio.nvdp) / RADVLAD (@radvlad) / Domenika Georgiou @d8menika / orczi96 (@orczi96) / Maria Mombers (@fomoforever)

ｓｌｏｗｅｄ + 𝓇𝑒𝓋𝑒𝓇𝒷 will be on show from October 3 - November 1 and is free to visit every Saturday and Sunday from 1 - 5 PM.

What lies on the thin line between the unheimlich and the homey, the cute and the eerie, something familiar yet unsettling? As digital archives continue to expand, the past has never felt more present, preserved in an ever-growing collection of sounds, images, texts, and cultural artefacts. Endlessly recycled, resurfacing and remixed into new forms, these fragments carry the traces of an earlier online life full of possibility. Reappearing amid an endless stream of slop and brainrot, they leave us with a melancholic longing for the futures we once imagined - nothing really dies while the future seems dead.

ｓｌｏｗｅｄ + 𝓇𝑒𝓋𝑒𝓇𝒷 brings together five artist(duo)s who find themselves in a cultural in-between: too young to remember a time fully disconnected from the internet, yet old enough to have experienced the more utopian possibilities of early online life. Drawing on samples, fragments, aesthetics, and memories of earlier eras, they explore our desire to find comfort in what came before, while confronting the unease of a present haunted by what might have been.

With great joy, I’m sharing that I had the pleasure of organising and curating this year’s Graukunst exhibition, the art programme during Grauzone Festival, an interdisciplinary festival dedicated to underground music, film, and art happening every year in The Hague.

This year’s theme, Body / Machine explores the feedback loops between bodies and machines, drawing inspiration from Electronic Body Music (EBM), where synthesisers and moving bodies operate as a single system.

The artists in this exhibition work precisely within this terrain: transforming the body into a machine and manipulating machines to behave like bodies. At a moment when digital technologies are no longer optional but an unavoidable reality, Graukunst reflects on society as a vast interconnected system in which we are both operators and components.

In the spirit of punk and resistance that underpins Grauzone, the exhibition invited us to move, to dance, and to momentarily disrupt the system—finding freedom through rhythm, collectivity, and embodied experience.

Thank you to all the incredible artists who made this possible with their energy, artworks and performances @lottepet @barthess @lolachevyy @studio.nvdp @soleysigurjons @mustav_a @alper.cekinmez , We Can’t Help But Be Conductive, Collective Embodiment and to @grauzone_festival for this incredible opportunity.
