Returning to sharing my writing after falling off the wagon in 2023 felt equal parts exciting and vulnerable. My main worry was that I wouldn't maintain a regular writing practice alongside life's responsibilities and distractions.

Knowing that being in the right environment can provide me with a supportive container for my writing I decided to schedule some time at a friend's studio to help me transition back into the flow of a writing practice. On both occasions I have arrived at the studio feeling unprepared for this time and wondered how 'productive' I would be, momentarily falling into the old trap of a progress only mind. Then I remember I am here for the process above all else, my expectations dissipate and I begin to write. I have been amazed at the ease at which I softly slide into my creative flow, and before I know it I've been in it for 3 hours and there is a whole piece of writing ready to be shared.

Returning to this regular writing practice has helped me see how I can get in my own way at times and also how I can support myself to find ease in the creative flow.

Thank you @studio.pinacle for providing the container and @cornernewcross for providing the fuel!

‘Tackle difficulties when they are easy.
Accomplish great things when they are small.
Handle what is going to be rough
When it is still smooth.
Control what has not yet formed it force.
Deal with a dangerous situation while it is still safe.
Manage what is hard while it is soft.
Eliminate what is vicious
Before it becomes destructive.

This is called
Attending to great things at small beginnings.’

Every Saturday you can find me in this heavenly wellness clinic nestled in the heart of Peckham's Bussey Building. Its a multi-sensory experience here, surrounded by the bustle and smells of the weekend markets, clothes and record shops, yoga studios and rooftop bars 🍸

In this space time seems to hold still and quiet 🥰 It's also just a few minutes walk from Peckham Rye station.
