Last month, we delivered our biggest AV project to date at Waagnatie Antwerp: 2 keynote stages, along with full AV support for the partner and club zones. It was an exceptionally challenging, creative, and inspiring journey. All of this was made possible by a fantastic team and the dedication of many passionate, creative individuals who went above and beyond to achieve a great result. UBN2026 was one for the books. SILENCIO: NUOVO SPAZIO ALL'EX WATERGATE, BERLIN

@silencioclub arriva a Berlino dal 30 ottobre al 30 maggio 2027

@silencio.berlin occuperà temporaneamente gli spazi dell'ex Watergate sulle rive della Sprea, nel quindicesimo anniversario del progetto nato a Parigi.

Aperto nel 2011, il Silencio è stato progettato negli interni da David Lynch come spazio tra musica, cinema, arte e design.

SILENCIO: NEW SPACE IN THE EX WATERGATE, BERLIN

Fifteen years after the Paris project began, @silencioclub is opening a temporary Berlin chapter.

From October 30 to May 30, 2027, @silencio.berlin will occupy the former Watergate space on the Spree.

The original Silencio opened in Paris in 2011 with interiors designed by David Lynch, bringing music, film, art and design into the same space.

Berlin gets its own configuration: architecture by @studio.karhard, sculptures and installations by @marcleschelier, and lighting by @studio.raito

The space has already had its first night.

A pre-opening during Berlin Art Week coincided with @mauriziocattelan's "Night" opening at @neuenationalgalerie, with @richiehawtin, @ben_klock and @valentina_magaletti playing on the banks of the Spree until morning.

@silencioclub is coming to Berlin. Founded in Paris by Arnaud Frisch in 2011, with its original space designed with David Lynch, the club was never intended to be like a normal nightclub. Over the years, Prince, Björk, Charli XCX and Kendrick Lamar have performed there, while artists and filmmakers have used the club as a place to try ideas outside their usual practice. In late October, @silencio.berlin will move into the former Watergate nightclub on the banks of the Spree for a temporary residency running until May 2027. Each Silencio project is designed around its location, with previous spaces shaped by names including Virgil Abloh and Harry Nuriev, and temporary editions appearing in New York, Venice, Cannes and Miami.

In Berlin, artist and architect @marcleschelier is working with @studio.karhard on the design of the space, with lighting by @studio.raito, while a different collective will take over the programme each weekend. The choice of Berlin was intentional. The city’s club culture has long been tied to counterculture and independent music, so Silencio is entering a place where nightlife is part of the cultural fabric.The project had an early outing this week with a pre-opening night around Maurizio Cattelan’s exhibition at Neue Nationalgalerie, where Richie Hawtin performed and Ben Klock turned up for a surprise DJ set. If there was ever a city for Silencio to take up residence, Berlin is probably it.

Set within the former Watergate, on the banks of the Spree, this pop-up has been shaped in dialogue with the city: its creative energy, its nightlife, and the singular way its nights unfold.

Architecture by @studio.karhard, sculptures and installations by @marcleschelier and lighting by @studio.raito come together to create a space for music, performance, moving image and the visual arts.

THE LEGENDARY US BY NIGHT CLOSING PARTY 🔥

Saturday night, we’re ending Us By Night the only way we know how.

So Me is back (@so_me_ma_sen). His 2025 talk at UBN was a highlight for many, diving into the history of Ed Banger, Justice, the infamous 2006 MTV EMAs incident with Kanye West, and so much more. Followed by an unexpected DJ set that turned into something absolutely epic. Bringing him back was a no-brainer. Bertrand, welcome again! ❤️

Bibi Seck (@bibisck) is an absolute legend in Belgium and far beyond. We’ve been trying to get hold of her for several editions, and this year we were finally in time. Very, very proud to have her with us. Goosebumps already. 🥹

And then… Borokov Borokov (@borokovborokov). After three nights of being somewhat tamed as hosts of our Teatro Stage, we’ll finally release the beasts into the XYZ Club for their unmatched live performance. 🐗💥

One more detail: this year, the club zone is being taken care of by Studio Raito (@studio.raito), yes, the crew heavily involved with Dekmantel. 🔊

Hospitality on the beach - MainStage

We brought the hospitality Arena to Life!

Built under the Croatian sun, where the steel gets too hot to touch and every piece is shaped by hand, the hum of tools echoing through the heat. From blue-stained plywood to handmade arches, every detail carries the marks of the process.

What happens when you bring a museum artwork to a festival?

This year, Nxt brings Boris Acket’s (@boris.acket) installation Duration to Mystic Echo’s of Amsterdam, placing a museum piece into the environment of sound and movement.

Boris is an artist and composer with roots in club culture, working with sound, light and motion. His practice evolved to challenge the boundaries between art, music, and performance, transforming technology into moments of collective encounter.

Stripped of any contexts by which Acket’s artwork Duration is tied to the exhibition space, it reverts to its original form: a structure, a scaffolding, a platform. As a man-made object, it melts and embeds itself within the experience; you dance to the beat and the structure disappears.

Boris’ journey reflects a broader shift: artists working with immersive media are increasingly finding a place within museums, as forms once associated with clubs become recognised artistic practices. Nxt stands at the forefront of this evolution, creating a full-circle moment that reconnects the work with its cultural roots.

At the festival, the installation becomes the backdrop for a curated lineup of DJs and VJs, where spatial design and moving image meet. Expect an immersive stage experience that brings together the energy of the dance floor and the experimental spirit of media art.
