Become and unbecome and become. Over again forever.

Self portrait, old negative from so long ago I can’t remember who took it
This print went through so many processes
From a negative -> printed positive, -> then solarised into negative again, -> then made positive again digitally.
The photo is still similar, but it’s been through and it’s come back a few times.
Feels like a very honest process for a self portrait haha

I also made some flowers out of tape and photogrammed them on
and the original negative is an in camera double exposure. There’s layers to this shiiiiii

Oddity’s Darkroom is now open for workshops & hire!

Located in Leichhardt at @studio.wdk and run by @odditys_photographs , this darkroom is a wonderful opportunity for film photographers to explore their images further! Whether you have never stepped foot in the darkroom and want to learn the basics, or you’re an experienced printer looking to discover the more experimental side to printing, this is a place to learn, play, create, and connect.

BASICS B&W PRINTING WORKSHOP - $130
This is perfect for photographers who love shooting film, but haven’t had a chance to print their photos the old fashioned way.
You will learn how to make contact sheets (pictured 8th slide), test strips, and full classic prints of your negatives.

What you get:
- 2.5 hour guided session
- 5 sheets of photographic paper (chemistry included)
- Contact sheet of 1 roll of film that you bring pre developed (preferably b&w negatives)
- 2 images as final prints
- Take home test strips and working prints

Experimental Darkroom Workshop - $155

This option is great to explore more unusual visuals you can create in the darkroom. Choose up to two alternative techniques from the list below (with examples in the slides). Together we’ll come up with a personalized session that creates opportunities for unexpected and wonderful images to emerge in the darkroom.

- 2.5 hours of experimenting
- 10 photographic sheets and chemistry included
- 2-3 final prints
- Take home test strips and working prints

Experiments:
Chemigram - Selectively applying chemistry
Sabatteir - Reversing parts of the image
Spatial experiments - Playing with angles, folding, motion blur
Double exposure - Two images overlayed in one
Photogram - Leaving silhouettes/textures of real objects
Fogging - Overexposing & underdeveloping

The darkroom is also available for hire to trusted printers after induction.
